descriptions that make you really think about food as a pillar of life/a pastime / a pleasure. Social history..…as relevant as art, architecture or interior comforts and fashion. All things we all have in common

Enjoying historical dishes.

You would think, wouldn't you, that Mr PB would know how to pronounce the French names of dishes and ingredients that he is dealing with, but he manages to crucify the language to the point of risbililty. Some of his English pronunciation is equally irritating (such as "apothesis"..). Apart from that, the material is interesting. I bought this one to put on at night in the hope that it would be lull me to sleep. It is a little too engaging for that (and the constant mispronunication was not very restful). But quite an interesting listen.

Interesting but pity about appalling pronunication
