Summary

Anarchy hits Dunedin when a cargo ship runs aground on Aramoana Beach amid a crowd of onlookers. One of them discovers a skull in the sand while desperate scavengers fight each other for the best of the bounty.

Shrill irritating narration

I quite enjoy the lightweight crime novels by Vanda Symon, but I find the shrill narration so irritating, so relentlessly upbeat and loud... plus, "that lisp"! I simply cannot understand how Genevieve Swallow could have even been considered for this job. It was like listening to a blackboard being scratched very loudly for 7 and half hours
