Summary

Things are going to get...complicated.

This is book 2 (the final book) of the Complicated Hearts Duet. Book 1 must be listened to first.

Warning: This book is not for everyone. These characters are flawed, and the situation is intense and frustrating. Emotions - all of them - run high. If you're looking for perfect characters and a perfect story...this book isn't for you.

This one was very different then what I was expecting in a good way! I really expected this one to be all drama after the way book 1 ended and while it did have lots of drama, it wasn't as much as I would have thought. I really like the way this one was handled even if I felt Breslin was a bit full of herself. This book was hot and filled with excitement and twists. This was my first Ashley Jade series and It won't be my last!

The narration was perfect!!! Both narrators did an awesome job on these characters.

Deep character development

This is the second part to my favorite book. I don’t mean in the romance novel genre. It’s my favorite book ever! The character development is unbelievable and their bond deep. Teddy Hamilton’s voice on this series was incredible. I am now a huge fan of Ashley Jade and hope more audiobooks come from her talented writing.

A Beautiful Conclusion

This story has both haunted and sated me in ways that I struggle to comprehend. It’s a tale of feelings. Emotions that all of us are capable of and many of us fight with every breath to not acknowledge. This series goes for the unconventional and makes you bleed for it. With every wince, outcry, and tear... you feel yourself becoming a whole new person as you recognize yourself in Asher, Landon, and Breslin. Their flaws... are our flaws. Experiencing this story is like looking in a mirror; you see the worst parts of yourself in it. It makes the ugly crying that happens so much worse. And after Ashley Jade rips you apart? She lovingly stitches you back together at the end. She honestly might be one of the most emotionally abusive authors I’ve ever experienced (to her readers) outside of George RR Martin. But that is what makes her so real and so great as a writer. These books cannot lie. They cannot cover up the raw pain and confusion in a pretty bow. She just lets it all hang out there. At the end of it all... you feel changed. But in the best way.

As for the narrators... truly, it was Teddy Hamilton who stole the show. I knew nothing about him until this series (which I had already experienced on Kindle) but man that man is an actor, clearly. His voice both soothes the soul and ignites it. I now have another favorite narrator. It always amazes me when a fantastic narrator brings a story to life - and makes it even MORE than it already was. Teddy, this was your doing.

I will forever treasure these books for the rest of my life and can not wait for Complicated Parts! It will be a spin off of Preston and Kit... and man... I need Teddy to do Preston’s voice too!

Oh Landon...

I am a bit torn. I loved the storyline, loved Teddy Hamilton’s performance but not so much Mia’s. I don’t ever like to criticize a narrator because God only knows I couldn’t do it but I think with someone as incredible as Teddy Hamilton, it is not just any other narrator that could keep up. I think this was the case here. Mia just couldn’t keep up. Teddy was always amazing so when Mia’s part came on, I found myself wanting to forward through it because she just couldn’t bring the same A game to her parts.

I did not like Breslin at all. I tried but just couldn’t. Asher got on my nerves as well- it felt like both of them used Landon throughout to get closer to each other’ Landon though- i loved him so much. What an incredible, kind heart. I found myself rooting for him and at times even yelling “get rid of both of them! U deserve better”. But the ending gave me hope that eventually the love although not the same, still as real.

The storyline was overall really good. I liked the way it made me want to find out what would happen next. If there was ever a book to show u why u should be honest with those u love, this would be it. Lies, omissions, half truths are all an end to a beautiful relationship. Overall, I recommend both book 1 and 2.

Hotness with teeth

Thank you Ashley Jade! That is how you write a FULL, in depth, thoughtful, erotic menage. Thank you thank you for writing a real, meaningful menage story!! Please please do it again! Absolutely loved these books from start to finish!

I’m so sick of the strictly MFM variety. That’s a 1.5-some at best. I don’t know who decided to make this duet an audible but I’m SO glad they did!

I’m a professional who has to read and analyze for a living so I’m not overly excited to read more. T/f, I’m strictly a listener. So audible for god’s sake give your listeners real erotic menage. I’m sick of AUDIBLE’s failure to give these stories the time of day! These stories are worth so much more than a 30 min audio romp! Your current catalog of MMF erotic romance is pathetic at best. Who are your editors!?

Great book, but hire an editor

First, I loved this sequel. I loved the story and the characters. However, I felt it was a little drawn out. That aside, I had trouble with keeping the two male characters straight, since the same narrator read both their parts. Same in book 1. I also had a big issue with the bad grammar and even wrong word usage throughout the book. In one instance, the word “antiquated” was used instead of “acquainted.” As in, “I’m not antiquated with her.” Not a direct quote, just the way it was used. Also, there were many sentences with “Me and Asher” or “Me and Landon” instead of the correct pronoun. For example, instead of “I’m worried about Asher’s and my future,” the author wrote “I’m worried about me and Asher’s future.” In one sentence, instead of saying he set the alarm on his clock, the author said he sits the alarm on the clock. Anyway, hire an editor, or at least a proofreader. I feel these issues really detracted from my enjoyment of the book.

Still Team Asher...

I about freaked towards end of book. I still love Landon and Asher but I just couldn't get over how much I was annoyed consistently by Breslyn. She was so mean and unforgiving of a poor teenage boy. Get a grip girl!!

Heartbreak and Headaches

This is the conclusion of the duet.

There are so many twists and turns in this book. There were multiple parts of the book that just gut you and rip your heart out, so be prepared.

This is where we get to witness the dynamics of a sexual relationship between three people. I love the interactions between Asher and Landon. Breslin is very irritating to me. Her insecurities ruin everything for everyone.

Overall Complicated Hearts was amazing. Once I completed the second book I immediately started re-listening to the first one.

Great Ending!

This is what I call an ending that a great books deserves. As always great perfomance and will definately listen to this duet many times in the near future. I’m always interrested in what Ashely puts out there because its just worth the price point. Worth the credit for sure. 🙌🏼

Love Asher and Landon, Breslin not so much.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to a friend. I really like the narrators, mostly Teddy Hamilton, and the story is different and interesting.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I found the love triangle believable and interesting. I liked that while the guys were into each other almost immediately both guys had to work to be with Breslin. The least interesting part of this story was Breslin. She was way too self centered and spent most of her time talking about what she had to do without and how she suffered and didn't really regard anyone else's needs and/or troubles.

Which character – as performed by Teddy Hamilton and Mia Madison – was your favorite?

I really liked both Asher and Landon and of the two, Landon is my favorite. Mia Madison's performance of Breslin is good but the character of Breslin is a little annoying.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really felt for Asher and what he went through. Landon is awesome and I loved him doing his best to help the people around him. Breslin is way too selfish and self centered for me to really want to root for her.
