Summary
From the New York Times best-selling author of the Rock Chick series comes a story of love, murder, and second chances....
When small-town Nebraska sheriff Hixon Drake meets Greta Dare, the connection couldn't be stronger, but the timing couldn't be worse.
Dealing with the fallout of a divorce he never wanted and setting up a new home for his kids, Hix becomes that guy, that one he never wanted to be, and puts a stop to things before they can even start. Protecting his kids and himself is his only priority.
Greta, on the other hand, has found the place for her and the brother she adores that's perfect for them - a sleepy little town in Nebraska. She's learned from life that there are no hopes and dreams. The only thing to look forward to is peace. And that's what she works hard to build for herself and her brother. Right up until Hix walks into her life.
Hix can't fight the pull and stay away from Greta for long. And Greta's finding it hard not to hope for something more with all the promise that is Hix.
But when the first murder that's happened in over five decades rocks his small, sleepy county, Hix has got to learn to trust again, convince Greta to take a shot with him, and at the same time catch a killer.
In other words, things are definitely...Complicated.

5 Stars ! K A at her best !
to try this book is big for me as i didn't like the few Kristen Ashley audio books i had before they usally sounded a little robotic with no life or passion. but this one i loved had passion and fun and the story was just K A amazing loved Hicks & Gretta and all their drama and complications.

Loved it
Classic Kristen Ashley, as usual well written characters, amazing H, a bit of a jerk at first, but understandable. The h is amazing and so strong, my eyes watered for her and her brother often during the story. The side characters are lovable and that is one trademark I love from KA. The plot is really good and pages turning, with everything being resolved at the end. Loved it was mainly the H voice throughout the book, reminded me of Golden Trail, and Lance Greenfield performance was great. I just spent nearly 19hr in KA heaven.

Some complications are good
I'm a big Kristen Ashley fan and I love audios so this was win win for me.
His and Greta's relationship was hot from the get go, this book has everything that makes a KA book great, Raw hot and with a lot of heart.

Brilliant story
A great story, it is a lovely and well written romance. Loved the characters developments through out the book. It isn’t a book based on the murder it’s based on the couple and their families the murder is just part of the story so if your just looking for a murder book this probably isn’t what your looking for but the story is great so if that isn’t what your looking for it’s a brilliant story defo worth a credit well done K.A

She's done it again!
KA did her thing yet again and she did it spectacularly!! Hix and Greta were the ish and more!! Loved how this story came together.
I'm not a fan of audible and had to think long and hard about getting this book in this fashion but when it comes to KA the decision wasn't all that hard.
So happy I went with giving audible a try for my fav author.
Congrats Kristen on another story well told!! :)

Bonking over kill
This has really good ratings but so glad I got it in a sale, as would have been a bit of a waste of an expensive credit. There is worse out there though I suppose. Now I like guts, blood and a good sex scene. This book has no blood no guts but loads of sex scenes with a perfect man, a perfect woman that can orgasm for England. Honestly I like a bit of a rump but was so bored of these scenes before I was a quarter was through the book. Any crime content was pretty much none existent.
