This book is a great help in choosing the right dog for your life. Author J.J. Wallace discusses the pros and cons of various breeds; puppy vs grown, large vs small. The full spectrum is to be considered. It is so important that a new dog owner knows what to expect.

I have had a dog in my life for several decades. There is no better companion. All the caveats mentioned in this book are so true! A sedentary home-body should steer clear of highly active breeds like collies. A large dog, like a St Bernard, will not be happy with apartment life.

This book has so many great tips on preparing your home, how to help a puppy adjust to missing mom and his litter mates, and how to potty train. Next, feeding, walking and teaching fun tricks. This book has got it covered!
