My grandmother suffers from severe dementia, so I thought I would give this audiobook a listen to see if it could provide any helpful tips. I do not regret my decision as this book has proved a tremendous help to me and our family as a whole. I gathered a lot of helpful information from each chapter. Still, the ones that stood out to me the most were discovering a new form of communication with people living with dementia and carrying out everyday care for a loved one with the condition. I say this because I have struggled in these areas and have found myself a bit lost, but from following the guidance that Summers suggests, my caring manner has improved dramatically. I am now much better versed in communication with my grandmother, and from learning how to care for her properly, I am much happier that she is getting the attention she needs. Overall, an excellent book for anyone responsible for caring for a loved one with dementia.
