About this listen

As the festival of Beltane draws near, mysterious fires are springing up around the magical village of Myrtlewood, and Rosemary Thorn can't help but try to solve the case.

Rosemary already has too much on her plate with a hoard of foundling children to house and her own teenager to raise. On top of all this, she has run out of excuses. There's nothing standing between Rosemary and her dream of becoming a magical chocolatier. Well, nothing except her own self-sabotage.

Meanwhile, Athena Thorn is yearning for the fae realm and harboring a secret that could put the whole town at risk. The last thing she wants to do is tell her mother!

If you're ready for more mystery, witches, and paranormal women's fiction with a midlife main character and a big dose of humor, you're going to love Myrtlewood Mysteries Book 3.

I enjoyed the fact that you found out more about the other characters in the book. I did stop and start couple of times but that was more to do with my personal life. Still getting used to the narrator doing male voices

The story itself is great! This is the 3rd book in the series and I'll definitely listen to the others, they're kind of addictive. With each book you slowly get to know each character a little bit more.

Rosemary, the main character, can be annoying. Giving people she's been friends with for only a few months ultimatums. Or telling people to not get involved in things when they have much more knowledge and experience with magic than she does. She also has a habit of saying "Fine" to her daughter a lot - surely the author has a thesaurus?

The most annoying thing about Rosemary and the book in general is the voice the reader has given her. It's really hoarse and makes her sound like she's really downtrodden and old. She's an attractive woman in her late 30s and she's been made to sound like a miserable old aged pensioner!

I keep hoping that with every book I listen to, her voice will become less gravelly 🤞🏻
