About this listen

Gabriela

Stefan Sabbioni showed up uninvited in my bedroom on my 16th birthday. He stood in the shadows, smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck. I thought he’d strangle me with it.

That night, he left a message for my father. He said he’d be back to take something precious.

I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he’s back. And he’s not hiding in any shadows.

He’s come to make good on his promise.

He’s back to take that something precious.

Me.

Stefan

Marchese is the manipulator of my family’s tragedy. I won’t just bring him to his knees. I’ll bury him for what he did.

Taking his daughter is only the beginning. I’ll do it, knowing I’m starting a war. I’ll do it, knowing my enemies will become his allies. They’ll stop at nothing to destroy me, and he’ll stop at nothing to get her back.

I’ve never shied away from war, though. I’m not one to play nice, and I don’t share my toys. I’ll demolish you if you touch what’s mine.

And she is most definitely mine.

This was a great story of Gabriela being held from one man to another. Her father is a bad a man who forces her hand to marriage to Stef a Silician Mobster. We learn about her life. You get the feeling she is falling for Stef but refuses to admit it. Stef is a bad man or a monster according to Gabby. We slowly learn more about his life. This is a slow burn of love. Enemies to lovers perhaps. Now I need to find Damage to finish the story as this left us at a cliffy.

Wen Ross and Mackenzie Cartwright are truly amazing narrators. Wen is one of my favorites when it comes to the bad mafia type books. Mackenzie is becoming a super favorite as well. I love these two together.

Great Story of Gabby and Stef

Holy moly, I just love mafia romance, I love everything about it, the darker the better. I love the arranged marriages whereby the super sexy, super in control, super alpha mob boss falls to his knees for the woman he hates, and the woman who hates him too. Yep, they’re the ones I love most, and though Stefan Sabbioni hasn’t quite fallen to his knees yet, you know it won’t be long, and true to form, Gabriela Marchese isn’t going to make it easy for him, not for him, and not for her father, she won’t be anyone’s pawn. So yes, this is the perfect mafia romance for me. Great writing, a great story which, sadly, I don’t know how it ends, because it’s a flipping duet and a cliffie! Did not see that coming, I really do need to put more into my reconnaissance before I start reading a book. I was truly heartbroken that this book ended, I wanted their happy ever after, and I wanted it now, not in a few weeks. The wait is going to kill me. A perfect read for me. Oh, and the narration, Wen Ross, plays the ultimate Steve Sabbioni, putting in all the feels and the emotions, Kackenzie Cartwright too was faultless, the perfect Gabriela. The countdown’s on, and I am impatiently waiting for Damage. Bring it on.

Wow. I don’t quite know what to say other than this book is amazing and I am so glad the second book is already out because with that ending I don’t know how long I would be able to wait! Such strength and pain and twists in this book that you can’t put it down until you have devoured it all. I’m off to start the next book now!

Collateral by Natasha Knight is fantastic! Mafia romance is a favorite genre of mine, and this book has everything. I loved the twists the author wrote, Gabriella and Stefan were intriguing and endearing. Revealing the monster was so well done. This book has a great suspenseful ending, and I can't wait to listen to the conclusion. Wen Ross and Mackenzie Cartwright were magical bringing the characters to life. I could feel their emotions and tension. Thank you Audiobook Obsession for this book! I loved it!

Gabriella and Stefan story begins here in book 1 in a very non traditional way. In this story we have both mafia ties and arrange marriage. This story hooks you in from the GetGo in the end is definitely twisted great leading up to book two to sing what's going to happen. As for the narrators I love having to narrators one doing the male the other doing the female part. I like the dual narration I feel like it's easier to connect to the different characters and having gender specific narrators to those characters I feel like it just makes a better fit. overall I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what happens next.
