Some cases should never be reopened…

When the remains of a young woman are found at the construction site of the new Govan-Partick Bridge, it appears to close a twenty-year-old cold case from DCI John Lomond’s earliest days as a detective.

But a retired detective – Lomond’s former boss – has a controversial theory that cost him his career.

This was no isolated case.

And the truth involves dozens of other cold cases, and an extraordinary cover-up by some of the most powerful police and legal officials in the country.

With the body count rising, Lomond and his team face a race against time to unmask a sadistic killer who’s been hiding in plain sight for decades.

In his most raw and emotionally charged thriller so far, Andrew Raymond captures the voices of his beloved home city, and takes you into its hidden depths.©2024 Andrew Raymond (P)2024 W.F. Howes Ltd

Love this series and the narration is spot on, however this book felt rushed. It didn’t really develop and the story sprinted to an unsatisfactory end. Still enjoyable, but not great.

Way too short

A good book with excellent narration as always. A good pace but the ending felt rushed.

I was enjoying this story (although it reminded me of a Line of Duty plot) until all seemed to be tied up too easily - then suddenly the book ended. Puzzled by the sudden shift in Isla’s accent from Northern Irish to Scottish too.

Ended very abruptly
