About this listen
Dahlia
To everyone in Cedar Bluff, I'm just Dahlia Monroe. The sweet waitress who always played by the rules. After spending only twenty years with my mother, grief led me back under my father's roof. But it was in his best friend that I found the missing piece. I crumbled the instant I caught sight of smoldering whiskey eyes and swift brushes that unraveled me marrow deep. The second our worlds collided, everything I ever wanted went up in flames. Leaving him and the insatiable desire to let him have me. Wanting him was a betrayal, but he was the only man that ever made me feel seen. Desire didn't ask for permission.
And neither did we.
Harlan
I was perfectly fine. Happy on my own. Work, home, repeat. When I found out my best friend's daughter would be moving in with him after the passing of her mother, I didn't expect more than polite smiles and uncomfortable small talk. But the second our paths crossed, everything changed. Honey sweet smiles and pasture green eyes captured me at every corner of Cedar Bluff, and haunted the backroads of my mind. One night was never going to be enough. I knew that. We tried to resist and failed. Horribly. Gorgeously.
But what will I say to my best friend when I tell him his daughter is carrying more than just our secret nights of explosive passion?
Loving her was a choice I could never unmake.
One big secret in the smallest of towns.
Two pink lines.
A forbidden love blooming rare as a five leaf clover.
No cheating.
No cliffhanger.

So enjoyed the characters of Dixie and Harlan. Who from the first same meeting are sparks and chemistry. Dixie finds her self back under her father’s roof after he left her and her mother. Working in the local diner as a waitress and keeping her head down. Well that is until the local sheriff Harlan walks in. He is older but the problem is he a good friend of her father the mayor of Cedar Bluff.
Hiding their relationship brings great humour to the story. Oh the texting and hiding under the bed. I was laughing out loud. At the same time fanning myself with the chemistry and steam these two have. When Mr Mayor find out he brings the drama. Dixie needs to trust Harlan, he is nothing like her father Clyde. Leaving is not in his nature.
Brilliant character, drama and spice. Perfect.
