About this listen

Finding missing children is Matthew’s job—but this time it’s his own daughter who’s disappeared.

When private investigator Matthew Hill picks up the call from his wife, Sally, his world comes crashing down. Their eight-year-old daughter, Amelie, is missing. One second, she was there, the next, she was gone.

It’s the very nightmare they’ve been dreading. Long ago, Matthew left the force after a woman blamed him for her son’s death, promising that he too would one day feel her pain. It’s a threat that’s hung over his family ever since, and now it’s Amelie’s picture on the news.

Matthew knows how these things go—the longer their daughter is missing, the less hope there is of finding her alive.

As the clock ticks and a canal is searched, he and Sally must reckon with their greatest fear…

This story followed characters from the authors previous book, which I really enjoyed as I just finished listening to it.

gripping

When Sally's daughter, Amelie, goes missing whilst out shopping, her husband, Matthew, an ex police officer who is now a private investigator. begins to search for her. The book is well plotted and I enjoyed the short chapters which kept me listening when I should have been doing other things! I read this as a standalone, but I believe Matthew has featured in several other books by the author and I will be seeking them out.

Elizabeth Knowelden did an excellent job narrating the book.

Great thriller

I have never listened to a book so terrifying in emotional terms. My stomach was screwed up
in knots throughout literally. I had to listen at every available second and the end was full of suspense and a massive surprise. I love Teresa Driscoll but this is a masterpiece. 100 stars and I beg of the author to follow on more works based on what was said in the epilogue

An unreal level Of suspense

The story line seemed weak for a Driscoll book, until towards the end, when the pace and psychological intrigue resumed. I found the story borrowed from aspects of the Book; ‘Girk A’,which I found disappointing. For me it definitely wasn’t one of her best books, but so many others have been superb that I think that’s forgivable! I’ll still look out for any future ones.

Excellent ending

Easy to listen to Elizabeth Knowelden. She makes the story come to life! The book was simple but effective with a few twists and turns and definitely worth a listen.

Loved it!
