Kate Fox is a tenacious investigator but more often than not gets the big cases wrong until the denouement when even I have worked out who the actual killer is. She is also a "nice" person with an encyclopaedic knowledge of her community.

These books are a little like "The Archers" only set in the "Sandhills of Nebraska. Mind you I enjoy the Archers too so it's a win for me. Megan Tusing has a lovely melodic voice and thus helps to raise the enjoyment
