About this listen

Would you murder your past to save your future?

Emily Davis is living a night to celebrate, but before the champagne can be finished, she finds herself facing strange and unsettling realities. With a glimpse of a reality yet to be, Emily must fight to survive the new threats to her existence and confront the darkness inside the people she thought she knew best.

Fun, fast-paced, and thought-provoking - fans of twisting time travel, The Twilight Zone, and Black Mirror will enjoy this standalone, novella-length adventure in the world of In Times Like These.

Really good. Just what I needed after finishing warp clock. I love this universe it’s set in. Different and gladly familiar to the main story. It fits right in.
Narrator is good too.
Hope it ties into any future stories in the main series

Great side story

Emily's newly engaged fiance leaves the apartment for a few minutes, but when he returns with stubble and smelling of new after shave, she's sure something strange is up. He says she is in danger, but who is the real danger here?
A mysterious and intriguing story. Short, but with enough detail to get really into it. The time travel system is well thought through.

Excellent time travel adventure, with an original, and plausible (assuming you have time travel!) plot. Nathan Van Coops is an excellent storyteller, and Angela Dawe is superb in handling male and female voices, capturing the unique nuanced tone Van Coops lends to each of his stories. Pretty much non-stop action throughout the two hours.

Although this story can stand alone, it will read differently if you have read one of Nathan Van Coops's time travel novels for background. But this background is not essential to the main thrust of the story, and everything technically necessary is related by action within the story, not in a series of monologues.

I received a review copy of the audio edition, but had purchased and read the Kindle edition long before the request to review. I will also admit to being a fan of Van Coops' novels.

Not the usual time travel adventure ...
