Summary

Adventurers flock to massive crypts brimming with riches.... Heroes storm the gates of dark fortresses... Gods clash over the fate of the realm itself....

Arek cooks lasagna, and tops it with a dash of finely chopped basil.

An orc who has seen more than his fair amount of fighting, Arek wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his days cooking and away from the chaos of combat.

However, when Ming and her group of adventurers hire him as their full-time chef, his plans of avoiding violence crumble. He longs to leave his blood-soaked mistakes in his past, but old friends and foes have different ideas.

Cleaver's Edge is the first book in a Fantasy / LitRPG lite series with a cooking element that's perfect for the holiday season. It contains status windows and other RPG elements, but it is not set within a video game. It will appeal to anyone that enjoys listening to a slice-of-life fantasy about a group of adventurers, as well as fans of Food Wars!

This novel also contains real recipes, and we highly recommend you give them a taste, if you’re hungry!

I was salivating at the stats at this book, how good is that, what a refreshing look at RPG.

Awesome book

Only a few spelling mistakes in the actual book, but the Author and narrator was awesome. I can't wait to get the next book and audio book.

Relaxed enjoyable listen

I did enjoy this, was helped by the narrator who I thought handled the pace of the story and the characters well. Was not an overly complex story but that was also a strength. The characters had some stereotypical features but that was no bad thing, in running games I’ve seen these in players and was fun to listen to. Sometimes it is good to have a more simple story and I’d say this was such. It it still started to develop some more depth in the characters themselves as the story progressed to make them more interesting and making me intrigued to see how they develop over time. The recipes were fun, may even find myself trying one or two if I can find them written out. Did enough to make me consider purchasing any sequel, probably when sitting in the sun chilling and want an easy listen. I’m a big fan of the Orcs books by Stan Nichols and it was nice to have an orc character in the book.

I love the recipes!

I think the mushroom one is the first I'm going to try!
The story is actually very good and really pretty unique in style .I've read a lot of this type of story and I can honestly say this is a new one on me lol. The fighting styles are different and interesting enough to keep you wondering what they are going to do next .I recognise the narrator from another book I have and just like that time he did a pretty good job. Still has a hard time keeping the mc name straight , I mean is it Alax or Ajax?
doesn't take away from the storytelling though.

“It’s like angry dirt”

I enjoyed this book and I’ll definitely be looking out for the next in the series.
Well written and a nice different take to the norm.
Really well narrated too with great character voices and pacing.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

Really hated the recepies

I think you will love the book if your into cooking, litrpg this is not. This goes too deep into the cooking angle far more then what I was expecting.

In my opinion, utterly dreadful

Too much he said she said. Too much dialogue entirely. The narration was poor as well. In fact, I can’t think of a good thing to say about this title. The recipes, if you’re a cook, might be fine but honestly, I found them distracting. if you must include them, put them at the end so that if you want just to concentrate on the story you can. Thank goodness I didn’t pay for this book. It’s just about the only positive I can come up with.
