About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Gianni Holmes comes a heartfelt, forbidden, teacher-student standalone romance.

Abe Cooper is a triple threat.

He's my best friend's father.

He's the football coach at my high school.

And he's a married man.

His marriage is on the rocks and he could lose his job for the way he looks at me.

I could lose my only friend in the world.

I know I should stay away instead of flirt with him.

But all the cons don't outweigh how I feel when I'm with him.

When my home situation gets worse, Abe is there for me. But what we do under his roof when everyone's asleep makes me feel guilty.

Now his daughter, my closest friend, knows he's stepping outside his marriage and she's hellbent to find out who I am.

How long can we keep us a secret and how dare we be happy together when it might hurt the ones we love?

Class Act is a standalone MM romance between a teacher and a student in senior year of high school. It contains a huge age gap and cheating, but there's no cheating between the MM couple. All characters are 18+.

Class Act was a hot as heck forbidden romance between Emery, an eighteen year old high school student, and Abe, his best friend's dad and football coach. Emery had an awful home life, and it broke my heart to see how much ab use he had to put up with from his dad. I don't blame him at all for trying to spend as much time away from home as possible -- it was the best way for him to survive his last year of school. He had known Abe through his best friend Mandy for a while, but it wasn't until they started spending time together during detention that chemistry sparked to life between them. Though this book did feature cheating, I appreciate that the lead characters expressed guilt and remorse for their actions and didn't ignore the real-world consequences of what they were doing. If anything, seeing them acknowledge that what they were doing was wrong only made their declarations of love feel more sincere, because not just anyone would be worth the risks involved. As Abe and Emery began a passionate affair, I was surprised by how deeply I began to root for them to find happiness. These men understood each other on a level that no one else in their lives did, and they complemented each other both in and out of the bedroom. Abe was fiercely protective of Emery, and Emery was attentive and interested in Abe without wanting to change him. Unsurprisingly, their biggest source of conflict in this book was figuring out how to manage the fallout that going public with their relationship would bring. While I wouldn't say this was the angstiest series of events I've read, things sure did get messy and uncomfortable leading up to the ending. In the end, Emery and Abe held onto each other regardless of what external pressures they faced, and the most important people in their lives stuck by them. Based on the epilogue I'd say their relationship is as strong and passionate as ever, and I'm glad they were able to make it work.

I read this book when it came out and absolutely loved it. To now also have it in audio is a treat - and I’m sure I will listen to this again and again. I love the fight and spirit of Emery - he is such a strong man. Abe and he make a controversial couple for sure - but I also think that this is the realest story of love is love and that sometimes it isn’t pretty but worth it.
