A real Heart Warmer
Whilst loving Dianna Gabaldon's novels I was slightly sceptical about this book; how could it live up to my expectations, these guys are actors not writers!
However loving Scotland, its history, the banter and obvious genuine friendship between Sam & Graham I thought I would give it a go.
How wrong I was to be sceptical - I haven't finished the Audio book yet but I was transfixed from the very beginning. I have really chuckled my way through a couple of hours already which, at this present crazy time is just what I needed.
Brilliantly composed, produced and obviously superbly narrated!
This book is not just for the ladies, guys you will love it too - don't hesitate

A truly charming story
by two great friends, and Outlander stars, of their journey around Scottland digging into the highland culture. and sharing bits of their personal stories. Witty an humerous told by them. A must read. Their lighthearted, companionable bantering will make you laugh aloud

Lots of fuss over not so much
I was quite disappointed with the story and with the performance of Graham in the audiobook. I struggled to find the main thread of the book which, in my opinion, relied mostly on the plot, characters and making of Outlander. I thought we would get to read/listen to a strong and educating story of the history of Scotland and its main sights spiced up with Sam’s and Graham’s insights but instead the book consisted of random ramblings bouncing from the events and shooting locations of Outlander to the writers’ personal/work life experiences. Too many supposed-to-be-funny cutting remarks to one another, too little meat to the story. There must have been a dozen remarks on ”I’m six foot this and that”. Oh, come on, how childish is that? You’re not the only tall people out there. And why, oh why is Graham whispering all the time in the audio book? One has to pump up the volume to hear what he’s saying and that’s really annoying. Sam’s reading was very good.

just couldnt listen to anymore.....
I was really disappointed I was expecting a road trip with a cultural and heritage story, It turned out a bit of a macho ' this is how much we drank the night before and how much we can drink today' with smattering of 'colourful language'.
I think if you are an Outlander fan you will find it much more relevant. I didn't finish the 'audiobook', I lasted seven chapters so it might of got better but the two authors had lost me by then !

What an EPIC Adventure!
I Laughed out loud so many times while reading along to the unabridged narrative, such a joy to hear you both and be a part of this journey. I adore Scotland, yes long before Outlander came along although I have read all of the books, it is the story in the land it's self that captured me, the story set in the stone. That sense of being overwhelmed and caught at the throat with emotion and tears happened to me the first time I visited Culloden and so too in the Scottish Borders. Sam is a rascal who loves mischief and pranks, had it been me I might have clipped him around the noggin a time or two. Now to be sure I can't wait for Men in Kilts to hit the screens.

Fun,silly, interesting, laugh out loud with heart
Very enjoyable listen, it's two thespians talking about their life's and what scotland means to them, has lots of interesting historical information intertwined with lots of larking about.
It's not about Outlander as such, but the reason they met, became friends and embarked on this journey is because of the show, I think it would help if you have seen series 1+2, tho not essential in enjoying the bromance, good story's and insight into being Scottish, being an actor, being stalked by crazy fans, what it's like to make a TV show and of course a bit of history of the Highland clans.

A Spirit lifter, & real reflector of this great land!!
Thank you men, for writing and performing the perfect companion for these times!!
Truth be told I’ve only seen a bit of Outlander, and was drawn to this more by a buddy road trip around Scotland, and of course the Whisky!!
I will be recommending this to others of my ilk, not least in my whisky tastings and of course Xmas shopping!!
Everyone get this, your alive let’s go!!

Not sure what I was expecting...
Although I greatly admire and respect the acting chops of both men, I can't say I'm a fan of this book. I know I'm in the minority here, but I think I was hoping for more history and less banter. I found the material to be too busy and too disjointed/choppy for my taste. I was previously a fan of the show Outlander, and my passion for history sent me on a quest to learn more about Culloden and other things Scotland, so again, my wants from this book were more history-based. Both men are captivating and charming, and this audiobook will surely appeal to the Outlander community, but it wasn't for me.

MARK ME - You Will Love It!
Sam & Graham embark on a road trip through their beloved homeland of Scotland. The men are very animated when talking about the history, artifacts & Scottish stories. They talk about the different clans, feuds & stories with great passion & enthusiasm. Outlander fans will love the reminiscing about their experiences on the set of the Outlander series. The guys throw jabs at each other with a dry sense of humor throughout the book. I’ve listened to it twice! The stories & history are so rich & interesting. I wish I was on the trip with Sam & Graham. The narration is great. I can listen to those sexy accents forever. It’s a really great listening experience. I hope this is helpful.

A clash of humor, history and heart
As a fan of Sam and Graham I expected to like the book, what I didn’t expect was to fall in love with it. The history is passionate and immersive transporting you to the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. The humor is relatable and enjoyable, making you laugh out loud in each chapter. But the heart they’ve poured into this book is noticed from the cover to the back jacket. Being narrated by Sam and Graham allows you to hear the nuances of love, friendship and passion bringing you along for the ride in a beat up camper van. Well done and congratulations.

A marvelous tale of two friends exploring Scotland
I am new to the Outlander universe (thanks Covid) I became a fan of both Sam and Graham only eight months ago. Never would I have imagined that Diana‘s original tale (and all 8 books actually) would help me learn so much about Scotland, history and the American Revolution. When I learned that Men in Kilts was going to become a book I knew I had to purchase it. Never did I expect to both laugh and cry throughout this audiobook. The banter, the stories, the road trip, the nicknames, and learning more about Scotland has just further opened my heart. (I was also looking for some good scotch recommendations so now I will have to try some of these). I have dived deeper into my family history, knowing that my maternal grandfather was from Scotland, I have explored our family genealogy and discovered more about my ancestors.
Once the world opens up again I will be booking a trip to Scotland and can’t wait to explore some of these beautiful sites. As election day was yesterday and the negative political climate which has consumed us for far too long, this book was a welcome respite from the depressing news/TV and all the strife. Thank you for your positivity and generosity in sharing so much about yourselves Sam and Graham! Kudos and much success to you both, surely hoping for a book two! Slainte!

Stunning Clansland Book
This is my first time using the Audible app. Clanslands is marvelously written and so entertaining. I just finished listening on my walk today. I was laughing and smiling so everyone who passed me smiled back. I am a history buff so I loved learning about Scotland. The friendship between Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish is very endearing. I enjoyed all the anecdotes. I have the greatest respect for Sam Heughan and Gavin McTavish. Both gentlemen are so talented and are truly Renaissance men. I did not know about “Outlander” until Feb. of this year. I have all the books twice, bought all the DVD’s, and have the STARZ subscription. I am totally “Outlander” obsessed. I ordered their book the day it was first released. I am very much looking forward to the TV version of “Men in Kilts.” I especially appreciate that Sam Heughan acknowledged his Mother, Chrissy first and that Graham acknowledged his family. Family is so precious. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents!

Just what we need !!
Even if you don’t know these gentlemen, you will enjoy this travelogue from 2 very silly kilted Scottish men. Outlander fans already know how hilarious they are...a treat for you. Their love of country and history of the clans is evident from their passionate storytelling. The highjinks of their travel will make you laugh while you learn a bit about them as actors and people. Keep an eye out for “Men in Kilts” TV show. We are so proud of Sam & Graham for this love letter to Scotland...

Fabulous - even better than Outlander, if that is possible
Sam and Graham tell tales of history—Scotland’s and their own. They reflect on filming Outlander. They are brilliant and funny and wildly entertaining. Their voices are warm like being under a blanket sitting near the fireplace on a snowy night...sipping a bit of whisky.
