Too simple!

It is very simple and MC lacks depth, so do the other characters as well. It's basicaly like a POV of anyone playing builder game like Forge of Empire.

No world building

I tried to get through it but there is nothing except him just going to a place telling someone to do some thing or someone telling him to do some thing and him figuring out the problem. There’s no world building outside of things that we need to know to understand the story. There’s no character development and there’s not really a hook.

Great Book!

It is fast passed and filled with human interactions. Not porn or melodrama. I can not wait for the next book.

A nice introduction to LitRPG

This is the first LitRPG book I've read or listened to. It was quite enjoyable and I believe I'll check out the rest of the series and more of the genre. The main protagonist is pretty interesting, though I do wish there was more emphasis on the townsfolk and not as much on the other Champions. The reader did a fine job at giving everyone their own voice.

Really enjoyed the audiobook, but map needed.

I really enjoyed the narrator and his voice fits perfectly with the character. I liked the pacing, but I did find it confusing with the different mentions of cities. I wish I was able to get a map with the purchase of this audiobook to download elsewhere.

It's kinda clever

I'm not an economist but things seem to fit together really well for this guy. Sure there are moments where you it might think something bad will happen. But, for the most part everything just works out nicely for this guy. Personally I don't think I'll pick up book two.

Neil Hellegers is a really enjoyable narrator.

Lots of fun

Really enjoyed this. Great LitRPG that does an excellent job with the town building/civ store game elements while also giving you some character depth and development. voice acting was top notch too. Looking forward to reading the next one.

World builders will love thrill seekers won't

This book is All about world building MC doesn't have any powers worth noting, but if you enjoy seeing a village come together then you will like it.
The MC is basically playing Sims on a village scale.
it fits my niche so I loved it.

Highly appropriate title.

I was highly dubious when I picked up this title as it has so few ratings. The geek in me loved it! I'm a big fan of games like Civ6, Cities:Skylines etc. This book mixes the nitty gritty of building a city with lots of business wheeling and dealing. If you like these things, you will enjoy this book, otherwise it's likely to bore you to tears. The MC is a nice character with some personality issues to resolve. He starts off thinking of it purely from a business perspective but must quickly learn that there are real people's lives that are being affected by everything he does; he's a fast learner.

The one thing I think of as a negative is how short the books are; each is about 7 hours.
