This is a simple yet heartfelt love story, free from unnecessary drama or problematic tropes. I appreciate that it does not romanticise abuse or assault, focusing instead on a pure and wholesome romance. That was a major fear at the beginning but that fear was quickly extinguished. While the story’s direction was predictable, especially as the big day approached, I still enjoyed how everything unfolded. The narration was also excellent, enhancing the emotional impact. It may not be groundbreaking, but it is a sweet, well-told tale that tugs at the heartstrings.
