Christina Rossetti (1830 – 1894) was an English poet from the Pre-Raphaelite movement. She is famed for her romantic and devotional poems, which explored pain, death and the tensions between desire and religious faith. She was the sister of artist and poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and often featured in his paintings. Today, Rossetti is regarded as one of the Victorian era’s most significant poets.
