About this listen

Their eight-year-old son was kidnapped by an international human trafficking ring. The authorities cannot find him. Harry and Sharon will stop at nothing to find their son, even when their own lives are in danger as they get too close.

Jamie was kidnapped from his school playground, drugged, and taken far away. The kidnappers said he would be adopted by a rich foreign family, but when selling the children becomes more difficult than expected and the authorities get close, the pressure is on to move them or get rid of them. Jamie at first misses his parents but this is eventually replaced by a simple desire to survive.

I was happy to discover that all three book's were available as an audiobook. And to top it off, it was narrated by Michael Pflughoeft, the same narrator for the whole series. His voice was not only pleasant to listen to, but also clear and crisp. It added a whole new dimension to my reading experience. What impressed me most about this audiobook was the effort put into giving each character a unique voice. It truly brought them to life and made the story even more enthralling. However, there were some moments where it was challenging to tell the characters apart due to their similar voices. There were also times when Michael's delivery felt too loud and jarring, which could have been improved by adjusting his tone accordingly to match the atmosphere of the scene. I noticed slight variations in tone and pitch throughout different chapters which disrupted the flow of the narration.
