Geoff Shreeves is a giant of football. In this audio edition of Cheers Geoff!, read by the author himself, Geoff shares hilarious, bizarre and moving stories from across his incredible career.

This audio edition includes a foreword from Alan Shearer.

'Cracking read . . . loved it' - Piers Morgan
'Packed with brilliant anecdotes about the biggest names' - The Mirror

There are just a handful of people who have been ever-present for the thirty years of the Premier League, but only one person has been at the very epicentre for the entire period: Geoff Shreeves. From signalling the very first ball to be kicked on Sky’s Premier League coverage to facing down Sir Alex Ferguson’s wrath (on countless occasions), Geoff is an integral part of the football fabric, respected by everybody in the game while still asking the toughest questions. Geoff’s interviews with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsène Wenger, Frank Lampard and Alan Shearer have become the stuff of legend, but it is his close personal relationships with the game’s star names that really sets him apart.

Packed full of hilarious stories on and off the pitch – including trying to teach Sir Michael Caine how to act, a frightening encounter with Mike Tyson, as well as getting a lift home from the World Cup with Mick Jagger – Cheers, Geoff! is a must-listen autobiography for any fan of the beautiful game. A natural storyteller, Geoff brings an astonishing catalogue of tales to life with his unique brand of experience, insight and humour.

'A legend' - Arsène Wenger
'No one handles the big moments better' - Jordan Henderson

When it’s the showpiece game of the weekend and it’s on Sky Sports, you know Geoff will be there. No one handles the big moments better (Jordan Henderson)
The man who asks the questions now gives the answers (Henry Winter, Chief Football Writer for The Times)
A legend of television journalism (Arsène Wenger)
Throughout my career, Geoff is always there and always fair. As a player and a manager, you can’t ask for more than that (Frank Lampard)
Geoff has always been professional, honest and authentic in all the time we’ve worked together. He has a special way of connecting with his line of questioning (Steven Gerrard)
Good times. Bad times. Who is always there? Geoff is always there and he does his job perfectly (José Mourinho)
Packed with brilliant anecdotes about the biggest names
Cracking read by a brilliant reporter - loved it (Piers Morgan)
Sometimes, all that is needed is a bit of fun, and for that you can turn to Cheers, Geoff, by Geoff Shreeves, who is generous with his anecdotes

A great listen while away on holiday. Funny and very smart. Fantastic stories for any football fan. Great to find out about the origins of the PL and Sky Sports. Great to see Geoff still doing what he does and loves best every week on Sky.

I was hoping it this was going to be a book full of stories from his years with sky and others and got exactly what I was expecting but absolutely blown away at how many a top class stories they were! Bravo!

Unusually for a sports autobiography, it is the early life stories that are the most interesting. Shreeves started out as an estate agent and his entry into sports journalism is one of tenacity and making the most of opportunities. But for a man who’s on the frontline between the supporters and the players/managers, there wasn’t enough edge to this book. Difficult, I suppose, if you’re friends with so many of the main figures. It’s a familiar issue with similar books - you’re left feeling that it’s all a bit chummy and a lot more could be told.

A steady enjoyable, it’s no earth mover or full of secrets. But it’s a good read for a footy fan, comes across as a good bloke, and stories are interesting,

Enjoyable
