There are so many nuances to chess that you just don't appreciate when you first hear about it or even after you first sit down to play. This book does a great job of introducing the ame on a way kids will be able to understand. I like the way it relates chess to stories to make the content more engaging and meaningful. Some topics are perhaps a bit too complex for younger kids but overall a great book.

Chess is fascinating!
