Summary

Honey Badger Princess Rana Morn has anosmia - she can't smell a thing. And honey badger don't care, except the condition prevents her from ever knowing who her true mate is. With two so-called "mates" in her past, this shifter strictly guards her heart now. The reward of finding her forever love just isn't worth the risk of more pain.

After years of captivity and relentless experiments, Brice Bunson has no fear. That is, until he meets his mate and realizes she may never know they are a match. But with the help of his eager and nosy siblings, Brice is sure he has what it takes both in determination and charm to eventually claim Rana's heart.

Yet before Brice and Rana can sort out their pairing, The Company mounts a new threat that threatens them all. This battle of the heart will quickly become a battle for everyone's lives.

My Thoughts on Chasing His Honey Badger

This was a very entertaining paranormal romance for me. Having never read any of the previous books in this story I was a little nervous going in that I would feel like something was missing. Luckily I didn't find that to be the case. If anything I just felt like I wouldn't mind going back and checking out the other books in the series. I liked the unique situation the main characters found themselves in with regards to their mating. I liked the large, loving family on both sides. And I liked that the leading lady was definitely no shrinking violet. I love shifter books so this was right up my alley. But I did sometimes feel that the leading lady being a honey badger was brought up a bit much. However overall this was a really good story. The narrator was one I haven't heard often but I like her. She has a really energetic and emotive tone of voice. And her male voice was pretty good.

Great Fun Story

I received a free Promo code for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I originally choose this book because I like Honey Badgers and when you add a large white armoured bunny how can you go wrong. It is also nice to read about shifters who are not wolves, lions or bears. Writing is very good with an interesting fun narrative. This is book 5 and can be read as a standalone although reading the previous titles in the series would give the story extra interest. I will certainly be doing so. The narrator is fine but has an strange habit of mispronouncing words that you would not expect you could get wrong, but this is minor and does not detract very much from the enjoyment. Overall a good one.

Rana and Brice

This was a fun, laugh-out-loud book and it was really good. Rana can’t smell and does not recognize her mate, even though Brice knows. They are not the same species. It was so funny. Rana doesn’t believe he is her mate after two previous mates that were not really her mates. This makes her really careful now. This was a very enjoyable book. Amber Bray did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

nice and funny

A fun romp. I had been looking forward to this book for quite a while and it did not disappoint. The narrator did a very good job. She made it easy to differentiate the characters from each other.

Brice and Rana

I have read a few of Golden Angel’s books and this was a nice change of pace. However, it is the fifth book in the series and you should listen to the prior books to understand the dynamics at play. Amber Bray is a new narrator to me and her lilting voice really brought these characters to life. Rana is an independent woman and a honey badger shifter who meets her mate, Brice. However, because of her past and the fact that she cannot smell, she does not believe that he is her mate and what ensues is one heck of a courtship between the two. This is one storyline that is filled with witty banter, steam, romance and some danger thrown in. If you are looking for an entertaining read, then this is the one for you. I volunteered to listen to a copy of this audiobook.

Exciting rollercoaster ride of emotions!

I asked to receive this free review Audible book and wrote this unbiased review. Golden Angel has done it again and written a captivating story that will have you laughing out loud, needing a cold shower or a hot man, and fearing for the safety of these characters. Rana is a loveable but fierce honey badger shifter that can't smell so she doesn't recognize her fated mate. Brice was a human that was turned into a fierce, huge bunny shifter. Brice knows that she is his fated mate so he must prove it to her. He has his loving family and friends that are more than willing to help. There will be several laugh out loud moments in this courtship. The banter between these two is hilarious. However when The Company threatens, all fun will cease and all of them will do whatever it takes to defeat this despicable group that is trying to create a mercenary group of shifters. They will even resort to torture to create these unwilling soldiers. Amber Bray is an excellent storyteller who brings out the personalities and emotions of these characters. The listener will feel these emotions and therefore the story comes to life. She is a pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend this Audible book. If you haven't already listened to the other books in this series, I recommend that you do. Golden Angel is a talented author that combines fun along with the serious parts of her story.

This one will burrow into your favorites

I haven't read any Golden Angel. It's also my first listen to the narrator Amber. I love PNR romance. I've read less of it recently so this listen was an enjoyable break from my usual. I enjoyed Amber's narration. And this story was entertaining. Rana & Brice are an unlikely pairing. Rana is an honey badger and Brice is ...well, I suppose by visual, he's a rabbit, but his shifter is a bit of a mutant since he wasn't born a shifter, he was made a shifter. Rana is an independent and feisty woman. She has one slight flaw. She can't smell anything. Kind of difficult to find your mate when you can't smell their pheromones. So her fellow honey badgers have her back, especially since a few men have tried to take advantage of her ansomia. Brice is drawn to her and so the game is on. He finds himself working to convince her that he's her mate. He has two things against him--her anosmis and that he isn't a natural born shifter. We get a sweet romance...that gets steamy but he's such a sweet bunny...or as he refers to his animal, behemoth. But there is much more than just their romance to deal with. They are also fighting the big bad...The Company. So you get humor, heat, friendship, family, and some action. Oh and lots of Holy Grail references. Love that! (Although I do wonder why the narrator says Ni the way she does. I've watched that movie a lot...and had Python obsessed friends since high school, and it sounds like 'nee' to me and she says it a bit oddly.) I got to listen to this for review. I enjoyed it a lot. It is the fifth book in the series but I didn't need to have read the other books. It was really entertaining and fun and suspenseful.

Good story and narration

I am familiar with author Golden Angel although narrator Amber Bray is new to me. I didn’t realize when I signed up to review Chasing His Honey Badger that this was the fifth book in the series. I think it would in hindsight have been beneficial if I had read or listened to the previous books in the series before diving in as there were times that I felt a little lost as the is an arc that goes across the series. Paranormal is not a genre I often read or listened to, however I did enjoy Chasing His Honey Badger. However having said that, I did find this an enjoyable listen, with good narration and entertaining. If Brice can convince Rana that they are fated to be mates, things would be fine, but she is determined not to be hurt again. This was a steamy, at times funny story that was sweet, romantic and suspenseful as danger reared it’s head.
