Hard to Finish

I really wanted to like this series but I don't. The characters keep making stupid mistakes. The same mistakes. They don't think, they always do the wrong thing and it gets old.

Great story

The foil characters are redundant and annoying to a flaw.
The story is entertaining enough to overcome it.

Its better then the first book

I felt like this one was better then book one but not by much. At least in this book the characters aren't making stupid decisions all the time. they still seem to make stupid decisions but at least in this one they aren't doing it all the time like they did in the first book. In the first book I just wanted to smack the stupid character Madison around and in this book none of the characters seem to be that Madison type so that was nice.

Good performance

I thought the voices fit well with the characters and I enjoyed the audio performance very much.

great book

great story makes you want to learn or relearn survival skills. show what good preparation can do for your survival. gut wrenching at times uncovers the gritty truth about what it takes to make in when the world plunges into chaos.

Good story, but with painful parts

All in all a good story that I would recommend to a friend. But only with a disclaimer.

The characters are in many cases really dumb. I don't know if was the authors lack of imagination on realistic challenges or just an attempt to create drama but the constant mistakes made that even a 12 year old would have figured out caused some forehead rubbing.

Then there was the complete lack of understanding of military tactics. FYI if you are going to write a story that has a lot of military involvement in the story line get yourself a subject matter expert. Your special forces were using tactics that a cub scout would see through.

Other than those issues the story was enjoyable and I am looking forward to the next book. I just hope the author hires some experts to give the story line a dose of much needed reality.
