Summary

My name is Jason Hart. As the best defensive lineman in the country, I eat, sleep, and breathe football. And I like it that way. I've got only a few more years before I'll have to retire, so expending energy on anything other than football seems like a waste of time.

That is until I have a random meeting with a little boy who just lost his father. We have more in common than you might think, and it creates an unlikely bond. As our friendship grows, so do my feelings for his mother.

I know Addison, as a recent widow, isn't ready to date again. But I want to get to know her better in spite of all her rejections.

Is it possible that I, a self-proclaimed bachelor, could be having a change of Hart?

Critic reviews

"Change of Hart is an impressive debut for M.E. Carter. With just the right mix of sexy and sweet, laugh out loud one-liners and relatable characters, Carter immerses readers in a story that's much more than just a romance. I can't wait to see what's next for her." (Brenda Rothert, best-selling author of the Fire on Ice series)
"A fun and refreshing love story that is sure to put a smile on your face." (Kathryn Perez, author of I" Sex Unlimited, Love and Truth, and Jessica's Journal)
"A sweet, sexy, touching story of romance and friendship. Definitely a touchdown." (AE Woodward, author of Kismet and Working Girl)

LOVED IT!

I so loved this book. It had just the right amount of everything, laughter, tears, heart ache, angst, etc. Oh and I really enjoyed the fact that all but the epilogue where written from the Hero's POV.

Jacob Morgan did an AMAZING job, so much so in fact that he's now tied as my favorite male narrator with Sebastian York...and believe me when I say that's sayin something. His range and ability to create distinct voices for each character, including the voices of children, and stay consistent throughout the entire story was beyond impressive.

It is 100% worth the credit, so much so that I'm off to see what else the author and Jason Morgan have out there (as this was the 1st of hers for me).

✫✫ 4.5 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this book. It was super sweet!! I love the step-dad & step-child relationship. It makes my heart melt every time. This book is almost completely written in from Jason's POV. Jason is a NFL player who knows one day he wants to settle down but not while his career is on top. Addison is a recent widow who just wants whats best for her son. Jaxson is a huge football fan and he is trying to cope with his father's death. The best thing about this book is the friendship between Jason & Jaxon. They have a connection from the time they meet. It's so cute and sweet and then comes the love story. I can't even explain how sweet all of these characters are together. It would be so hard not to fall for all three of them! This book had the perfect blend of sweet, emotional, sexy (ok maybe could have been a little sexier). These characters are the people I want in my life. I can't wait for book 2.

Jacob Morgan was fantastic in the audiobook. He truly was a perfect choice for this book, he was great for Jason, Jaxon and even Addison! Kirsten Leigh only did a very small part of this book but she was great when she did.

4.5 Change of Hart Stars

This book is fantastic! I am a huge fan of the narration! I am now a fan of the author too, this was a first for me by M.E. Carter and it is not going to be my last.

I really fell for how Jason was as a person, him being a football player was well just icing.

I really liked how the whole book was in Jason’s POV, you get his authentic self. I really liked the step-dad, step-child relationship even if it came from left field. I think I like that the most. He wasn’t expecting his heart to be opened up like it was. Precious is what that is.

Addison being a recent widow had me wondering how this was all going to play out and I am really glad it when the way that it did. She didn’t swoon all over Jason she was her son’s protector and that made me like her all the more.

On to the next book in this series!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I loved this book. All the characters were great in this book. Jason was such a great guy and the chemistry between him and Addison was hot. Jason and Addison had some great family and friends. I love books with really cute kids. Narrator did a great job as Jaxson.

MUST read!!!

If you could sum up Change of Hart in three words, what would they be?

Hopeful, inspiring and swoon worthy

What did you like best about this story?

I loved that this is told from the male leads point of view. That's rare with these types of books. You fall in love with Jason. He's one of the best written male leads I've read in quite some time. His story just makes the overall story even more breathtakingly beautiful. Although this is technically a stand alone, you MUST read book 2.

Which scene was your favorite?

The moment when he meets and begins to bonds with Addison's son.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Seriously, it happens throughout the book. There isn't just one moment because it's so beautifully written and the story is concise.

Any additional comments?

I can't speak highly enough of this book. I have fallen in love with this author and have begun reading her other works. I also LOVE Jacob Morgan and Kirsten Leigh as narrators. I have listened to multiple narrations of theirs and I've loved everyone. They both bring the voices of these characters to life.

Outstanding in every way! Bravo!!

This is my second M.E. Carter series and I decided to press play as the recommendations from fellow audio friends were constant and always raving about how good it was. Well I am happy to say that I agree on how excellent and just how overall this audio is an amazing example of great storytelling, narration and a balance of romance and angst. Jacob Morgan outdoes himself with a masterful performance as all but 1 chapter is written in the Hero's POV. His level of emotion, his way of playing with nuance and his overall commitment to playing a child in the most innocent yet heartwarming way takes this to another level. I can imagine that just reading this book would be great on it's own, but experiencing it in audio is just such a treat!! Superb in every way!

Love, love, love it!

I loved this story! I’ve had a few audiobook fails recently but this one... GAH! It had me laughing out loud and crying (my husband thinks I’m crazy now, btw). Jacob Morgan was flawless as always. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series!

Love this!!

This is a sweet story that is wonderfully narrated. Kristen Leigh narrated the epilogue and the rest was narrated be the swoon worthy Jacob Morgan. He brings just right amount of fun and charm to this story.
