Story
After the accident, the chief was pushing me to retire. Being a firefighter was all I had ever wanted, what I lived for. Well, other than my 12-year-old daughter, Abby. Raising her as a single dad, much less a busy firefighter, wasn't easy, but life never is. Then, a call came in from an all-too-familiar area code. I was being beckoned back to my hometown, back to Canon. I had left that small town years ago, leaving behind a lot, including...her.

Sinclair Amadeus Sterling, a.k.a. Mr. Superior Jackass with a God complex. Who also happens to be my blackmailer...gulp. Tall, dark, gazillionaire growly pants. The first time I met him, I kneed him in his very well endowed balls - don't ask! He had that tightly leashed, controlling air and a smoldering glare that made me damp in seconds. The only thing that sucks worse than his attitude is his (lack of) sense of humor! Honest. Sadly, he's also the one who could save my business from going bust. Hell!

Crosby Rhodes is considered a god when it comes to Western Wildcats football. And who knows, he might just be one. There’s certainly no shortage of girls on campus who agree with the sentiment. They swoon over his pretty face, dark messy hair, and hard body honed from years of lifting and two-a-day practices. That alone makes him catnip for the female species. Add a lip ring and surly disposition to the package and you can understand what all the fuss is about. Would I be included in that majority? Hell no.

Our chance meeting in my library is quickly leading to something more. I'm falling hard for this man. But am I just another notch on his belt? Will I come between he and his daughter? Standalone Novel
Standalone Novel.
Kristin just started her job as her new town's librarian when she meets Wes, former baseball star. He's home after losing his job, but somehow his family has moved on without him. His daughter, Izzy, is a moody teenager who lives with his parents most of the year. Now, he doesn't know how to connect with her as a father. When Izzy finds Kristin with her father, she loses it. Wes just needs a little time to figure out how to make it all work, but he is offered a fantastic opportunity at just the wrong moment.
If you're looking for a book that doesn't have sugar-coated characters and shows the balance required for real life, this is the book for you!

Single Dad, sports romance.
Change Up by Lacy Hart is a single dad sports romance, narrated by Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Wes is a professional baseball player, he's also a single dad to 15 year old Isabelle. When life throws a curve-ball and Wes finds himself back in his home town indefinitely he meets Kristen.
Kristen is the local librarian and when she meets Wes she has no idea who he really is, there is this immediate chemistry between them even though Wes is 13 years her senior but with Wes having a teenage daughter the age gap will be the least of her worries.
I have listened to a Lacy Hart book before with these same narrators and although I didn't feel much of a connection with them in that book I can certainly say that with this book all that changed.

Loved it!
I love this book. Wes goes through a hard time losing his job, getting to know his teenage daughter, and his mom is battling cancer. He meets Kristin and she makes him happy but not sure how to divide his time getting to know his daughter, helping his mom & dad, figuring out a new job, and falling in love with Kristin. So well written and read. I enjoy the male/female narration the best.

Lovely sports romance
Kristen and Wes's story was a well written sports romance. It's been a while since I read one of those so I enjoyed it very much.
I liked both characters. Kristen was more mature than her years and Wes found out that there was more in life than baseball.
Both narrators did a good job. Out of the two of them I liked Daniel James Lewis's performance better. For me his voice conveyed emotions more realistically. It was harder for me to experience a dramatic moment narrated with Juliana Solo's singsong voice. Also there was a palpable difference in the quality of the two recordings.

Older man, younger woman
Change Up is a sweet love story about a pro baseball player that has been dropped by his team, he heads home and finds the local librarian is someone he wants to get to know. There is a large age gap between these two as well as struggles with his 15 year old daughter and his career.
The narration is really good for this story. They keep your interest throughout and make it believable. I received a code from Audiobook Obsessions to listen and review and give my honest opinion. I enjoyed it, it's a solid 4 for me.

Wes + Kristin= Adorable!
I generally don't do a lot of sports romance stories, but I thought this was absolutely adorable. Wes is a stand-up guy who lost his spot on the team because, in the world of baseball, 35 is old. Hey, everyone has a birthday! He meets Kristin, the local librarian, and sparks fly! I thought they were great together. It took me a while to warm up to Izzy. There was one moment, she made me extremely angry. But she came around, just as I did. What was missing for me was conflict. Other than Izzy, there wasn't any real drama. I'm okay with that, but it would have been nice to have. The narrations were spot on and the sweet personalities injected into each character made the story sweet and endearing.

Change Up Review
I absolutely loved this book!!!
We first meet Kristine, a 20 something librarian, who had just moved to town. She is trying to come up with new ways to get local teens involved with reading, including book delivery. The first request comes from a local teen, who wants a book to read to her grandmother. Making the decision to deliver the book personally instead of mailing it out may have been the best choice Kris has ever made.
That’s where she meets Izzy Martin, teen daughter of local baseball legend Wes Martin. Thing in Kris’ life start to take a turn when Wes shows up in town after being let go by his team.
Sparks fly between them as they start to hang out and then the worst thing happens... Wes get offered to join another Baseball team. Can there love for each other survive everything that is coming between them or will they lose each other forever?
I love the book, loved the characters and the plot. I laughed, and cried through this book, but it brought up some tough points of being a single parent. I’m glad everything worked out in the end.

Sweet Sports Romance
Can we just talk about how swoon worthy Wes is? I mean hot guy who’s party days are behind him looks good in baseball pants, is a single father from a small town. I mean come on, it shouldn’t even be legal. His chemistry with 20 something Librarian (dream job) Kristin is instant and HOT! I couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t declare my love for Wes’s father. That man steals the show.
Really easy listen. The narrators are wonderful!

Wes and Kristen
Wes is a 35 year old professional baseball player who has been a single father who has been raising his 15 year old daughter Izzy with the help of his parents since his ex-wife decided the small town lifestyle wasn’t for her. When he is released by the team for a younger player he heads home to re-evaluate his future.
Kristen has recently moved to Chandler to become the head librarian. She has plans for the library and is trying to create programs to interest the youth in town in what the library can do for them.
From the moment that Wes and Kristen meet they have an instant attraction but trying to balance his career, his daughter and Kristen is proving more difficult than he imagined.
This is a heartwarming romantic story which is set in a small town. The characters are all well developed and Wes is not your typical jock which just makes you like him more. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and I thought the narrators did a great job of bringing the story to life.

Baseball and Romance!
The author did a really great job writing this sports themed romance. It is on the sweeter side of the romance spectrum and it is a heartwarming tale. The story flows very smoothly with characters that feel genuine and seem more down to earth. This was a pleasure to listen to as we watch Wes and Kristen's relationship develop over the course of the story. Also, it does have a happily ever after!
I think the dual narration was a great touch to this well written story. Since the point of view alternates between Wes and Kristen throughout, I feel as though having two narrators really helped magnify the writing and the feelings the characters experienced. Both did a fabulous job and I really enjoyed their performances.
I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Baseball and love..the perfect combination
Just when you think you have everything figured out in life it all falls to pieces. Wes has been playing professional baseball for 15 years and gets cut from his team before opening day. Great Read
Change Up (The Home Stand Series Book 1) was a great read by Lacy Hart. Wes is a pro-ballplayer who finds himself without a team to play for. He heads home ready to focus on his daughter. Kristin came to Chandler to build a new life. Things abruptly change when Wes comes back to town. They have a chance meeting in the library which leads to more. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

okay
I liked the real parts of baseball, using real team names and locations doesn't happen often in romance books. it was a little instalove, but I'm not sure it meant to be. the narators were okay for me. nothing overly memorable, but I did appreciate the speed and volume were consistent with each narator.
