Despite the fragility of their relationship, Catharine and Alex have found a happiness together they never expected to find. Alex's career is soaring with her hard-fought place on the US Women's National Team as she prepares for the World Cup over the summer. Catharine is flourishing in her newfound freedom, embracing her love with Alex, while still being forced to keep their romance a secret amidst her soon-to-be ex-husband's presidential campaign. But it's more than either woman hoped for. More than they ever imagined.

Until a secret is revealed that threatens it all. Their relationship. Alex's career. Catharine's business. Even their lives. When it all comes crashing down, both women must ask themselves—how can love survive?

Amazing amazing amazing, I’m so glad this series was so long. Loved the way they were all written and I was captivated through every single book!

This series of books are quite beautifully written. The hope that was felt with the first book, The Senator’s Wife, is muted in this book, but it still offers a wealth of emotions to wade through. Abby Craden, who is one of my favourite narrators I have to say, does struggle with some of the accents on this occasion. The British and Australian characters are obviously a struggle, but it’s a small failing that I’m willing to overlook. Can’t wait for the third book in this series to make it to Audible.

An emotional romance with lots of drama, intrigue, secrets and betrayals. Alex's career is taking off, but Catherine is struggling to keep her business and deal with her husbands run at the presidency. The writing is great with very real flawed characters and some heartbreaking situations. Abby Craden is an excellent narrator as long as she sticks at American accents, her Newcastle, Australian and Scottish accents sometimes made me cringe.

This storyline just gets better and better, it's fantastic, what a rollercoaster ride that has me on the edge of my seat. I definitely recommend this audio book it is exceptional quality in writing and narration, with Abby Craden bringing it to life. However as a British person I have to laugh at her regional accents, but hey it's still a good listen.

What a goal!
