Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

Summary
Coming out is easier when you've got someone by your side. At least that's how the hyper-private Quinn Kincaid sees it. When her publicist suggests a good old-fashioned sham of a Hollywood relationship, Quinn reluctantly agrees. And that's how the star of Jordan's Appeal, TV's highest rated legal drama, ends up with a fake girlfriend - the very real, very sexy, and very gay soap star Lacey Matthews.
In Casting Lacey, Elle Spencer gives us a hilarious new take on a classic storyline, complete with nosy mothers, fawning assistants, and two beautiful actresses who might learn about true love. If they don't kill each other first.

Loved their chemistry and banter
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The chemistry between the MCs was off the charts. The easy flowing banter between them made it a joy to listen to. Melissa Moran was perfect in her narration. She did a splendid job and the characters were easily identifiable. Good supporting cast too.
This was my second Elle Spencer book. Very different from Road To Madison. I came across Casting Lacey many times in the past and am super glad that I finally got it. I've already listened to it twice and am dipping into it for the third time. A very pleasant escape that brings a smile to my face. On my favourites shortlist.

Late to the party!
I read the book on my kindle quite a while back and really enjoyed the concept and the development of the two MCs. Why it took me so long to listen to the audio version, I'll never know.
The narration increased my feeling of how the characters felt, which hasn't always been the case with some other interpretations.
Subsidiary characters also enhanced the story.
Thanks to all concerned.

A contract that turns into love
I love this book, the book is well written, I have listened to it twice now and I will definitely listen to it again. The two main characters have great chemistry, it’s funny and romantic, with plenty of ups and downs it keeps you intrigued to see what happens next, and they manage to cope through all of it as they have each other.
The narration is brilliant, I have listened to this narrator a lot and every time she does a fantastic job.

An absolute must.
Having listened to a few similar storylines to this I wasn't expecting much, but wow! The dialogue/banter between the two main characters is exceptional, you fall in love with them both. The plot has a few twists and turns to keep you hooked, moments of joy and of heartbreak. It really has everything. First time listening to this narrator - thought she was sublime, I could imagine everyone so clearly. I have enjoyed this so so much, and can't wait to start it again.

I’m not crying, you are.
I’ve never laughed out loud to a book as much as I had with this book. I also found myself fighting back tears, of sadness and joy. The characters, lead and supportive, were so genuine. The situation was hard to fathom, but still believable. The strong language added to the believability.
The narrator was great. I loved the Boston accent! I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading/listening to more of Elle Spencer’s work. The best audible purchase I’ve made, thus far.

Wow, what a roller-coaster!
I actually had doubts about how this one was going to end, almost right up until the end. Wow, these characters went through some serious ups and downs, and bouts of the human stupid, while still remaining endearing and interesting. I don't get wrapped around the axle over just any novel, but this one had me gripped from almost the first chapter, as the characters just inched towards each other like couple of damn porcupines. I'm very impressed. Don't pass this book up. :)

Just perfect!!
First of all, I was dubious. I was wrong.
Narration was the best I have heard in a while. Melissa Moran made the characters exactly who they should be with not one misstep.
But Elle Spencer took a tired and silly premise and turned out romantic comedy gold! From the first page, the dialog is so real and conversational that I felt like I was eavesdropping. The characters truly evolve into who they need to be for the relationship to work over the entire course of the novel, which spans a year. Every time I thought “here comes the plot cliche”, she went a different direction. It’s so well done. I will likely listen to it again in a couple weeks. It’s that good.

I skipped
Got annoyed at the beginning of chapter 8 so I checked how many chapters I had left, was disappointed and decided to skip to the last 10 chapters to my surprise they actually were at a point where they weren't arguing. But then out of nowhere a conflict arises. Then two chapters later Is sort of resolved.
The one thing that made me skip was easily how they treated each other. Sure they had chemistry, but the way they insulted each other and tried to play it off as friendly flirting got annoying very quick.
They randomly blurted out awful things then regretted it. repeat. Things happen literally out of nowhere. Dialogue doesn't progress Smoothly.
Try listening to the first 6 chapters or skip to the last 10 like I did.
