Bald Ben, Lumpy Lawson, the quarrelling twins, Polly and Molly, and Captain Blackpatch are a useless bunch. They don’t like boats and they don’t like the sea, so they live in a house. When a big electricity bill lands on the mat it needs paying pretty quickly, so the hunt is on for some treasure. But are these pirates any good at finding treasure? In fact, are they good for anything at all?

Summary
You’ll never guess what Mr Butternut said at school today: ‘This is your first day with me and I can see that there is something amazing about you… all of you are hiding a big secret.’ And do you know what it is? We are all superheroes! Then we had to choose our superhero names. I’m Caspar the Cartoon Kid, my best friend’s Big Feet Pete and moaning Noella Niblet - she’s the Incredible Sulk! Now we can fight injustice and Gory and Tory the vampire twins. They’ve stolen something that belongs to us, and we want it back…The first in a fantastic new series from best-selling author Jeremy Strong - specially adapted for audio by the author!

Kids love it but narration is "shouty"
This is probably the story my 6 yr old boy asks for most. The combination of imaginative cartoon action, followed by "what actually happened" is really very funny.
My problem is the narrator seems to think that SHOUTING is the way to emphasise exciting parts of the story. And there are A LOT OF EXCITING BITS!!!!
Even with the front speakers in our car off, this results in a very distracting audiotrack. Not great if you are trying to listen to the satnav / concentrate on a busy stretch of motorway. Hence the 4 stars.
