Summary

The gods never should have opened Pandora's Box...

Nate Temple has been abducted by Zeus and is thrown into the middle of an Olympian family feud that could very well kick off the Omega War all by itself.

There is one weapon that Zeus believes will turn the tide. Pandora's Box. But his neglect left it on earth for far too long, and Pandora has found a new master to serve. Nate Temple.

Because Zeus put one thing inside the box that he never should have...hope.

And hope is a dangerous thing to leave unattended...

Nate will need every ally and every tool at his disposal to have a chance at surviving. The only problem is that none of those allies have any idea where he is, but they're scouring the world to find him. Before it's too late.

The only way out of this insanity is for Nate to face old demons, unite old friends, and outmaneuver plans that have spanned decades. The Dread Four must ride to save their brother, the Horseman of Hope, or everything will burn.

Even if they win, everything might just burn all the same. But will it burn with hope...or despair?

Best in the series yet

Leaving a comment here I'm never sure if the author actually reads it, in the hope that this one is noticed I can only say 'bravo sir 👏 I was gripped from the start to finish and desperate for more. The narrator had me thinking in his voice I was so absorbed.

An epic that has yet to end

I always think Shayne will tie up loose ends or reintroduce older characters in his classic level of Badassery that he normally does but with this he found a new level I'm now dubbing "silver's style" because I've never laughed gasped and in full fact cried as much as this man has made me in the last few years you truly are the king of the Freaks

Twists and turns and all the feels

Shayne never lets you down. There’s always an unfathomable plot and characters who share an intimacy that makes you smile, which everyone knows we need at this point in 2020. And don’t forget the awesome butt-kickings. Carnage is no different. Dark (but never too dark) and intense at times, the story bounces along at an amazing pace. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments that make you spit your coffee. It was worth the wait. May your enemies always taste the alicorn induced painbow!

Every great author has one of thes

I will say that this series is on my top 5 out there right now. The problem I have with this book is that the main character is stuck in a sort of a stagnant place for more than half the book. It reminds me of the book Ghost in the Dresden series. I felt like the book could have been cut in half and got the same message of the book out. It just seemed stretched.

Ummm *spoiler alert*

I’ve read every Nate Temple related book and was patiently waiting for the epic Callie-Nate romance crescendo and it just fizzled and died in one book. It took me three stops and starts some wine and a rip-off the band-aid attitude to get through the first half of the book. The second half was betterish. I feel like Shayne gave us all this foreshadowing of butterflays and apocalyptic horseman hope/despair dream scenes where they’re the other half of the same whole, star-crossed lovers and it just got tossed out the window? How do you explain all that away? They just weren’t meant to be...color me disappointed. Does their romance ending make sense because they didn’t put any effort into it -ok fine. Also, they could have realized the consummation of the relationship would mean doom, but nope. And his actual true love’s back story rankles and reeks of convenience and is very unsatisfying on several levels. Not the least of which is how that effs up Quinn’s story and that character’s whole persona. And Callie’s love interest is someone we barely freaking know😤. I’m still a fan just a grumpy one. Grim is still my favorite character - he hasn’t disappointed me. Yes Grim, I tasted the painbow. Has a bit of an asstertaste.

Almost can’t finish it

I hate all the build up for Nate and Callie and then you screwed it all and it ruins the whole thing. Stupid.. othello please.. neither of them gave a shit when the other was with someone else.. you ruined so much with this for me.. not happy with the crap everything and I mean everything lead to them two but nooo wanted to make it “interesting” and blow the whole plot out of the water.. STUPID

Awesome

I RARELY review a book, but I felt compelled to write something this time. The book is just great , start to finish. There is so much I want to say, but I do not wan to give anything away. However, this answers some question, but it also makes a long awaited statement, which was a long time coming. I think this might be the meat Temple book yet.

Possibly the best so far.

Shayne Silvers once again brings Nate Temple and the Templeverse to new heights of adventure. In Carnage many questions are answered and new and exciting avenues are opened up. An excellent read!
