Audiobook - very good narration. These characters really fit the narrator.
Story - 3.5 stars. While I liked the characters in the whole, the situation around villain Jez and the resulting 5 years of revenge was too over the top for my taste. There was some excellent snark and beautifully described locations.

Xavier Conway is working the catwalk at London fashion week, when he spies someone he used to know very well. Being a supermodel, Xavier is in demand, at a photoshoot the day after, he discovers he was right about who he saw. His ex is the photographer.

Reuben Langley has seen some awful sights in his life being a media photographer in war zones. Changing the front line for fashion, he is drafted in to a photoshoot when someone pulls out. The person he is photographing is someone who got under his skin and never left.

Reuben and Xavier got together under difficult circumstances, they hooked up, and then discovered the next day that Xavier is the estranged son of Reuben’s beat friend, Jez.
Having not been together for years, the feelings have never disappeared, and when Xavier is taken ill, Reuben steps up to care for him.

Lily Morton has once again written a book full of charm, humour and snark. Call Back is the third offering in the ‘Model Agency’ series.
I loved the character of Xavier, he was full of love and attitude, but showed his vulnerable side when Reuben was forced into a difficult situation. Reuben fell for Xavier, even though he was a lot younger than him. Jed was a tool, and I disliked his ultimatum.
The writing was excellent, as was the narration by Joel Leslie, the range of accents is amazing.

When I read this book with my eyes I said the only thing that could make me enjoy it more would be to listen to Joel Leslie perform it. He does such a wonderful job interpreting Lily Morton’s words.

This story is a real heartbreaker. I wasn't sure there would be anything long lasting between these two. Xavier and Reuben meet in an unexpected way. When Reuben finds out Xavier is his best friend's son, guilt eats at him. But the attraction between these two is undeniable. The problem really arises when Reuben decides Xavier deserves much more than him and breaks off any future they might have. As the years go by the attraction never leaves and both have to face what should have been.

I loved Reuben's big heart and Xavier's snarkiness. The characters fit so well together and both had such big personalities. I'm really glad I got to listen to this story. The narration by Joel Leslie was perfect. He really brought to life each character's personality.

I was very excited to listen to Reuben and Xavier's story after seeing both characters pop up in previous books. I can say that it was well worth the wait. Both main characters are complex but very likeable, their back stories are revealed as the story moves along. I also loved that this one was set, in part, in the Scottish Isles and Joel Leslie gets to bring out his wonderful Scottish accent for Reuben. Well worth a listen!
