Wanting something you can't walk away from is bad for business.
I close deals that other people can't.
Show up. Charm the room. Walk out with the signature.
Then I bought a stranger a drink at a bar in Manhattan.
We exchanged first names and forgot the rest of the world existed.
She was gone before sunrise and I was on a plane back to New Orleans by nine.
Deal closed.
Or so I thought.
Turns out she's the Commissioner's daughter.
My new hire.
Carrying my baby.
So I did what I do best. I made her an offer to contain the fallout.
A fake engagement. A temporary marriage.
Eighteen months of pretending, then she walks away with the baby and her career intact.
My company avoids a scandal.
On paper, the best deal of my career.
The problem is I keep forgetting it's pretend.
Forgetting that her side of the bed has an expiration date.
Forgetting that I'm the one who wrote the terms.
I've never lost a negotiation in my life.
But every morning I wake up next to her, I keep trying to renegotiate the one deal I should have left alone.

This book has great characters in Cain and Greer. The chemistry between hits you from the start. Both flawed characters but together perfect. A one night stand with pure spice and leading to much more. The plot has twists, brilliant secondary characters, drama and oh the steam is hot.

This is book 4 in the Stone Legacy series and is Cain’s and Greer’s story. To me Cain came off as the player of the Stone brothers in previous books, that is until this book and his meet cute with Greer in a bar in New York. What was meant to be a one-night stand turns out to be anything but. Again, this is less action packed than the first two books and more of a love story where family interference has a devastating impact on what could and should be a beautiful relationship. If I was Cain, Ridge would have got more than stern words or the silent treatment for his actions.
Sadly, in my opinion, this audiobook has been released far too soon with a lot of formatting still being required.

Great book, shame about the formatting
