Summary
For ex-Navy SEAL Jon Hayes, the super-powered "costumes" are just part of ordinary life in New York City, until the day his pregnant wife Melanie is senselessly killed in a clash between Captain Light and The Jade Shade.
But as Hayes struggles to come to terms with his loss, and questions for the first time who the costumes are and where they come from, the once sharp lines of his reality begin to blur...
If Hayes wants to uncover the shocking truth about the figures behind the costumes, and get justice for his fallen family, he'll have to step out of the background, and stop being a bystander.

Okay story really bad ending.
A nice amount of buildup, introducing new characters... making a pretty decent narrative... then suddenly throwing all that away so you can have a rushed ending. Disappointing.

Decently entertaining
Decent superhero story with a well-done unexpected twist. I spent the entire book trying to decide whether the main character was an "unreliable narrator" (not related to the actual narrator, who did a fine job). Worth a listen.

A decent enough book...
It wasn't really what I was expecting. A bit slow and drawn out for a super hero book. It wasn't poorly written.. just not for me, I guess.
