I love this author! She keeps me interested from start to finish and always leaves me wanting more of Mattie and Robo who are always in trouble one way or the other

I’m not sure how many more books have to have a close friend, family member or neighbour die. It’s like reading a “murder she wrote” book, you don’t want to know the characters as you are either going to die, be kidnapped or accused of murder. I’ll try one more book in the hope it’s going to be a good old mystery that isn’t actually related to the main characters…

Another solid mystery from Margaret Mizushima with an outstanding performance from Nancy Wu's narration. I binged this in two days. I love the characters and Mattie and Robo. I want a dog but I'm allergic, which sucks. The story was very good but also very sad. I am very interested to hear the next book!

I enjoyed this book. However it was a slow burn and took a while to get going, especially as the case was focused around the main characters home life drama and I mean drama. Once Mattie got kidnapped it got more interesting and I couldn't stop listening. This is book four in the series and if you start with book one you do get to know the characters so much better than jumping into this adventure but it does work as a standalone. In this story you learn a lot more about Mattie's childhood which was interesting but to be honest I listen too this series because of the dog, oh and Cole's children. I love Robo and all the different skills and tricks he uses to get the job done, it tugged at my heart strings heart when he couldn't find Mattie. I had guessed who the killer was but that is because I am naturally suspicious more than anything. Off to jump into the next adventure.
When Cole takes his daughters out on a horse ride to help them get over the troubles of the past few months, he never imagined it would have them stumbling over a dead body. A body connected closely Officer Mattie Cobb. As one half of the K9 unit,Mattie still has to work the case with her partner despite the connections and everything they learn. That is until Robo is needed to search for his own missing partner. Can Robo and Cole earn to work together to find Mattie before she becomes a victim to the same killer? Who has already left a trail of bodies behind him?
I like the narrator. She does a good job giving voices to the characters and making them come to life in a deadly situation that will have you gripped until the end.
