This story grabbed me from the beginning, then kept hold of me through all the twists and turns in the tale to the very end. The narrators were excellent. I loved the two main characters, especially the guts and determination of the fmc. I was a little disappointed in how the fmc’s ‘great destiny’ seemed to fizzle out a bit at the end (I don’t want to say how because I don’t want to give any spoilers), I just felt it fell a bit flat. However, I know there are more books in the series that might flesh out the supporting characters and may give more insight into how the fmc deals with her new role. I’ll just have to be patient lol. Now I’m off to read the next in the series!

This story was captivating from the get go. The twists and turns, the characters development as story unfolds was so well done. Ivy was an amazing FMC beautiful, smart and strong. The bond of found family in this book was so beautiful. The Narrators where perfectly casted and the duet narration was a treat for the ears, especially when Sean Masters uttered the word "mine".
Can't wait from more from Brandy Hynes, what an amazing first book.

Where do I even start with this one? It's every trope I love, a little dark, a mafia suspense, and passion. Can't go wrong with this one! Brandy Hynes had me riveted to my airpods and I couldn't stop, so t say the least, I didn't sleep much! Now Ivy has found out that in order to receive her trust, she must be married by the time she is 23, three months from now. Her mother has suitors lined up, but she is on a mission to find her own, and that is exactly what she does. Wells has been watching her since she was 17,and knowing the terms she has to fill was right there when he needed her, ready willing and able. And now the fun begins. twists and turns, secrets that are kept and released, danger almost impossible to get out of and four men who are willing to do anything for her. No, this is not a reverse harem, but the support she has to keep her safe is beyond amazing. Hynes has created a world that is exciting to be in, and Ivy proves to be a smart and resilient woman. She learns quick and does what she has to to survive. Wells has a passion for her that is unmatched, and even when he isn't with her, he is protecting her. This is a story that needs to be paid attention to, little crevices are filled with surprises, and just when you think you know what is going to happen, there is another turn. I loved this debut novel, and now cannot wait to move into the next one in the Kort world.

Sean Masters and Mollie Stark are the story tellers and this team is perfect for all the characters in the book. Masters plays the dark alpha with precision, has a passion that is huge and adds in the humor when it comes to the others in the group. I love his voices, each selected to match the personality of the person. Stark is the women, but mainly as Ivy, and she has an edge with this one. Not giving in an inch, ready for battle, never giving up, she is fierce, and loyal to the end. Fantastic performance and look forward to more!

Burning Ivy is book one in the KORT series and is the marriage of convenience, forced proximity, secret society, hidden identity, virgin FMC, possessive MMC, found family, romantic suspense, age gap dark mafia romance of Gavin Wells and Ivana (Ivy) Kingston.
Ivy’s life is turned upside down when she learns she must marry soon in order to get her inheritance. This clause can only be changed by her father, who is gravelly ill and is unable to speak or make any decisions, so her mother set’s about compiling a list of eligible bachelors so that the inheritance isn’t lost to charity. Ivy is livid, she is determined to be the one to decide on her future and not be railroaded by her mother into a loveless marriage. So, when a chance
encounter with a handsome stranger leads to her offloading her problems and to him offering to solve her problem by proposing to her there and then. Initially apprehensive, Ivy is somewhat hesitant to accept this strangers offer, however, the more time she spends with him the more comfortable she is around him, so she decides to throw caution to the wind and agrees to the marriage. Wells has her move in with him and his friends to sell it as a real marriage and to her absolute astonishment they don’t live in a modern bachelor pad, they actually live in a gothic revival estate complete with acres upon acres of land, an assault course, trails, a pond and a garage with a fleet of luxury and classic cars to name just a few things. Ivy connects with each member of her found family in different ways. Wells, who becomes her husband, who calls her Little Storm and is dominating yet romantic and speaks to Ivy’s book loving heart and soul. Ty who becomes like a brother to her, calling her Freckles and playing a fun game with movie references that sends them into fits of laughter. Liam who loved nothing more than to flirt outrageously with Ivy, they eventually settle into a flirty banter friendship with Liam calling her High Society. Gage was the exception, he took a little more time to warm up to Ivy, however, Ivy found the way to gain Gage’s friendship was through his stomach when she used her amazing cooking and baking skills to win over the grump of the group. As secrets about her family come to light and it becomes apparent that her entire life has been a lie including thechance encounter with Wells that was actually carefully orchestrated and the result of five years of surveillance and protection. Now that she knows the truth and has been training with the guys, she is ready for any danger set to come her way plus she has a super protective husband and friends who will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
Mollie Stark and Sean Masters take Brandy Hynes words from page to audio and Jesus Mary and Joseph…what a pairing!
Ms Stark's beautifully smooth honeyed tone was perfect to portray the sheltered, inexperienced artist whose growth throughout the story led to her blossoming into a fiercely independent siren with a reckless and tempestuous streak.
Mr Master’s is fast becoming one of my favourite male voice actors in the business. Sean’s smoky, gravelly, deep tone was perfect to depict the masculine, authoritative characters of Wells, Ty, Liam, and Gage whose mission has always been and will always be to keep Ivy safe.
In summation, this debut novel from the fabulously talented Brandy Hynes was outstanding. From the characters and character development to the plot and storyline, and the phenomenal voice actors who perfectly portrayed the characters, I was completely enamoured and captivated from start to finish. I cannot wait to dive into the second instalment in this saga to see how the story continues.
