About this listen
My name is Crystal Dolce, and I’m anything but sweet...
It’ll be easy, my father said. When we move to a small town in the south, we’ll own it, my brothers said. After all, my family is rich as sin and used to getting whatever they want. How hard could it be? Except, when we arrive in Faulkner, someone already owns this town.
The Darling family.
They are every bit as wealthy as we are, and they’re not happy with our new money moving in. The three Darling cousins, each one more cruel and gorgeous than the last, rule the halls of Willow Heights the way my brothers ruled our prep school in Manhattan. None is worse than Devlin Darling, who makes it his personal mission to ruin his new rivals.
The Darlings see my brothers as a threat. They want them gone. It doesn’t take them long to find my brothers’ one weakness.
Me.
Note: Bully Me is a high school dark romance suitable for listeners 18+.
©2020 Selena (P)2020 SelenaPerformance is single POV by Amanda L'Orien and I really enjoyed it.
Crystal Dolce is the only daughter of a maybe Mafia-linked Dolce boss, and along with her brothers, shes been relocated from NYC to Arkansas. While she had been looking forward to a new start, the move doesnt go as smoothly as she had hoped when her brothers end up competing with The Darlings for King status of her new school. Making HER the new target when she gets dubbed The Darling's Dog. (an aspect of this book which I personally disliked. I normally enjoy the Bully Trope but I really disliked Devlins character and didn't feel invested in their will they/wont they relationship at all. I think this might be because the story is part of a series and the book ends on a cliff hanger, but I honestly feel too much of the story itself wasn't developed in this first book enough for me to really connect with the writing enough to want to know more. Theres a fine line between the enemies to lovers dance between characters and just straight up sensationalized abuse, in this case the story fell flat, might have been more interesting had it been RH?

The story is build on a very sexist view. The FMC is oppressed by her father and brothers (they can do whatever they want but she can"t), and her being hummiliated and assaulted is seen as much more acceptable than the male characters being humiliated or assaulted.
Later on in the story what the potential love interest does to the FMC is assault and extremely wrong. However the FMC seems to not really think about it.... She seems very oppressed and naive and I like my FMC's strong so I won't buy any other books in the series.
Not for me

The story is a great addition to the recent trend in the bully genre.
Crystal is a very confused young woman and I eagerly await the next book to see what that has in store for her, hopefully some
