Deadwood carpenter, Isaiah Yates, knows that he’ll never marry because of the secret he holds close, but he wishes things were different, especially after he meets the beautiful young widow, Leanne Moss. I really do love to listen to a few short stories in between all the epic novels I normally listen to. I find them very refreshing. This is a perfect, heart-warming story and we all need some of that.

I really like both Isaiah and Leanne, although I did find Isaiah was very quick to judge Leanne for "keeping secrets", when he himself was also keeping a very big secret. But they are sweet characters, they both have huge hearts and are both very patient with the kids - especially the mischievous and rambunctious Danny and Sammy. Once they actually communicate clearly and embrace their relationship they form a lovely family that allows them all to flourish and grow. I listened to this on Audible.
