Summary

Rosa Silbermann wird 1952 mit einem geheimen Auftrag in das Nobelhotel Bühlerhöhe geschickt. Die in den 1930ern aus Köln nach Palästina emigrierte Jüdin arbeitet für den israelischen Geheimdienst. Ihre Gegenspielerin ist die misstrauische Hausdame Sophie Reisacher. Sie musste 1945 das Elsass verlassen und sucht nun in der Bühlerhöhe ihre Chance zum gesellschaftlichen Aufstieg. Beide haben erlebt, was es heißt, wenn ein Land einen Neuanfang wagen will. Keine von ihnen vertraut der beschaulichen Schwarzwaldidylle.
