The title really fits. This book is so off the normal path, and yet, it keeps you looking for more. This story had me staying up really late. The narrator did a great job and fit the story.

Brutal is the 2nd book in the Pleasure & Prey series and can be read as a standalone. This is a stalker/serial killer/dark romance, and it held my attention until the end. 

The story follows a serial killer who falls for a camp counselor he sees while on one of his killing sprees. 

I loved Wren and Hazel. They had great chemistry and some sizzling scenes, and I loved how he took care of her. 

The story was fast-paced and had primal play, dirty talk, breeding kink, outdoor steamy scenes, and so much more.

I liked that we got to catch up with the couple from book 1 and the rest of the gang and although we were introduced to a new character, I wished we got a bit more info about him.

This was a great addition to this series, and I would recommend it to lovers of dark romance. 

I listened to the audiobook version, which was narrated by Victoria Connolly.  She did a fantastic job with the characters, giving them their own voice and personality, and really brought the story to life. I enjoyed listening to her narrate this novel.

I loved this book just as much as the first one. Going in I knew that it was going to be an unconventional romance with an unconventional couple. But I found them to be so entertaining. I honestly loved Wren’s obsession with Hazel. I enjoyed their banter and then when they got together, the way they supported each other and fit into each other’s lives. I can’t wait to hopefully get more of these two in future books and just more from this author in general.
The narration, Victoria Connelly, was really good as well. Especially for a new to me voice. I must admit I wouldn’t have minded a male narrator though.

This is another brutally depraved and delicious romance. It’s twisted and dark & hot A F! It will have your wet & aching and questioning your morals.

Probably more like 3.5 stars. I really liked Wren in this but Hazel..man she was TSTL. If that's your bag then this might be the book for you but even I was rolling my eyes at her behaviour and I let a lot of stuff slide in my romances.
