Jemima Pardon, a paramedic with a daft name and chronic asthma, has never had much in the way of good luck. Cari is the only author I know who can take a serious subject and throw in some northern humour.

Throw in a police officer Rosie and Jen a paramedic with asthma. Throw in lots of rain and missing children. A true classic.

I loved the book and the narrator did a stand up job with the narration. Not Cari Hunter’s usual style but it is full of snark, fun, sweet a set around a serious story line that still resonates.

I feel like this might be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the combination Cari Hunter and Nicola Victoria Vincent. Down the rabbit hole I go!

But in all seriousness, this was a wonderful book. Some genius writing in places that have you laughing out loud one moment and sobbing the next. It's rare that I find an author and a narrator that work so well together as these two do. Also it's great to have more British based fiction starring lesbians.

So if you like a slow build romance, interesting characters, an edge of your seat plot AND you're debating about whether to get this or not, get it. You will not be disappointed.

I'm off to buy some more of Cari's books now!

Extremely satisfying, from beginning to end. As always, a great story written by somebody who clearly understands what she is writing about, and who keeps the pace exciting and well balanced. Please write more!
