Summary

Kennedy Wells is desperate to get back her dream job writing for Mainstream, Waters Publishing’s celebrity magazine. She’s worked too hard over the years to have it snatched away because of one tiny indiscretion that ended with a giant lawsuit. After five months of writing mind-numbing articles about current events, her boss agrees to let her get back to reporting on the rich-and-famous after one last story.

A born-and-bred city girl, Kennedy is sent to cover fishing in Alaska, which has her feeling just like a fish out of water. When Brynn Coleman, director of Alaska’s Wildlife Rescue and Sanctuary, comes to her rescue time after time, Kennedy can’t help but lower her guard and open herself up to Brynn’s standoffish charm. Falling for the sexy ranger is one thing, but is the possibility of love worth giving up a career she’s always dreamed of?

meh....

I found this book to be flat and a bit boring. Reader was very monotone and added no chemistry to an already predictable story line. Wanted to like it but struggled to stay interested.

So good!

Ok, let me start by saying that I have all of audible's Kris Bryant audiobooks (why aren't there more?). my favorite book by her was "Taste," but now...it's "Breakthrough"!!! I loved the story, the dialogue, the narration, everything! There was even suspense and of course, some much anticipated sex scenes :) I loved how the glamorous Kennedy went quickly from heels and dresses to hiking boots and sweatshirts and was never too annoying or uptight. she had several times when she thought Alaska was against her, but still she persisted and found much more than a good magazine article. Also, I loved Bryn and Wally!!! Great book!

Original and wonderful

This is officially one of my fav books to date. It was so perfectly written and kept me wanting more. Loved every part of it including the narration and this was my first time listening to Brittni Pope audible. Definitely recommended.

Potential

This book was well written and believable. The knowledge about Alaska was nice as well. I had a hard time with the Narration. it was very monotone, the only reason I suffered through it because I loved the story and the two main characters who had so much quirk to them but it never came to fruition because the narrator only had one tone and you couldn’t often tell who was talking unless “she said, I said” was there. I am convinced if this book was re done with a different narrator it would be a Top 5 lesfic.

Narration was painful!!

I really can't even tell you what I thought of the story because the narration was like coming out of anesthesia under water. The stoned monotony of this narrator's voice required the speed to be increased to at least 1.25+ . This didn't improve the quality, it simply made quicker the sedate, inflectionless droning. In truth I couldn't finish this story....

Narrator is meh

Story was pretty good. Couldn't stand the flatness of the narrator's voice or the fact that she insists on pausing after the word "and" so much!

Great

I loved this book. I was laughing so much at her mishaps. Hilarious. I loved Brittni Pope she kept her serious voice regardless of the scene. It was perfect not giving anything away. She was the perfect narrator for this book. But I enjoyed this author's writing. A must!!!

Love anything Alaska

any fiction I can find about alaska i get, and when there are places i am planning to visit are described add a hot love story and some suspense and action and I am drooling...
So as you can understand I loved the book, the narration not so much. I don’t like it when the narrator has this even toned boarded sounding voice. In the middle of a scary part it sounds like she is reading a grocery list, when the main character is happy/exited/afraid/ in love she sounds the same. I am not aspecting different voices for different people that might be more difficult, but at least change the sound.
Oh well, all in all I loved the book.
