Summary

They say there is always a calm before the storm. A time when you think you’re safe, protected from the destruction that you know is going to eventually come.

Harper was that calm. And I? I was the motherf--king storm.

As kids, we were best friends. She was the light to my darkness. I used to protect her from her bullies, now I’ll become her most feared one.

Seeing her for the first time after three years was like a bucket of ice water being poured on me. It chilled me to the bone, making me irrational, angry. No longer is she a little girl but a grown woman with curves and eyes that pierce my black soul.

No one knows the darkness that lingers under the surface, all they see is my smile, my charismatic charm. I’m the all American golden boy.

Having her back in my life is awakening something inside of me. She reminds me of everything good, everything I’ll never have and I refuse to let her stay.

She has to go and the only person dark enough, dirty enough to scare her away is me…

Breaking Harper isn’t as easy… I thought I knew everything, turns out others are just as good at hiding their secrets as I am.

Damaged, dark and falling off the deep end. Will I break her? Will I break us?

“Sometimes the scariest monsters aren’t those that hide in the dark. Sometimes they’re the ones hidden right in plain sight… like me.”

**This is a standalone DARK bully romance. This book contains scenes that may be triggering to some readers. This is not a YA romance novel and should be read by those only 18+ or older. **

Breaking You

Breaking You kept me on the edge of my seat right from the very beginning all the way until the very end. It is a dark bully romance with several twists and turns. I love this story as much as I did Hating You even though Warren is cruel and not a very likable character. This book has a captivating storyline with lots of revenge, secrets and lies. I look forward to listening to more of this series. Blake Richard and Olivia Amayo both did an amazing job bringing this story to life. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Harper has some redeeming qualities

Harper is a strong character since she has to deal with Warren. Some people may seen her as weak but the reality is she has a strong backbone. Even through everything he put her through she loves him. He loves her too, in his own way. Even though he is cruel, he has some redeeming qualities. so you don't totally hate him.

very much romantic. and innocent

Warren and Harper have a past together that was very much romantic. and innocent. All of that changes one night. Now Warren wants nothing to do with her. He is cruel, mean but also very possessive towards her. Love the darkness of the story with the light moments in between. Happy ending for the couple.

Miscommunication at its finest!

Miscommunication at its finest! I wanted to strangle that character for the most part, but it all comes out in the end. Breaking You is a truly dark bully read. Cant wait for book three! Hope it's just as good as book one and two.

Unstoppable Love and Unwavering Hope

This book is incredibly heart wrenching and emotionally unstable and yet it is a story that will show you exactly what it means to love another person. Beyond the issues and the miscommunication, the emotions will drown and infiltrate every part of you. You will FEEL it all as you learn more about this very interesting couple. Beck and Hallman prove yet again how ingenious they are and how very true to real life they are in these incredible stories. This is a truly inspirational journey that you do not want to miss out on! The narration on this audiobook is beyond fabulous! These are new narrators to me, and I fell in love with their creative talent. The pure and deep emotion from Olivia Amayo blew me away. She is a fabulous narrator whose voice is very evoctive. Blake Richard's voice is so deep and dreamy that I swear I felt it in my very bones. This audiobook is so mind-blowing to listen to that you will forever be changed. You will never forget anything about it.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Nope. Nope. Nope. This book starts with a clear cut case of rape, not bullying or even dubcon. I don't know if the authors are going to romanticize it or not (well, yeah I do) , but I don't find anything about nonconsensual sex to be romance. Don't care to read on to find out. DNF @12%. I received an audio version of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Entertaining!

I thought the female narrator read a bit slow. In some parts her tone was good, but other parts lacked emotion. The male narrator was better in my opinion at bring life to the narration. I slightly increased the speed and it helped. The story was a bully romance and a second chance romance. Once again I was surprised by the twists. This series is definitely entertaining. Looking forward to the next audiobook.

Loved!

Breaking You is book 2 in the Blackthorn elite series and wheww Warren is such a jerk but ohh so hot! if you love bully romances as much as i do then this is definitely the book for you! warren and harper were friends before until it turned into something more between them and loved blossomed until warren thought that harper did something that was unforgivable and he started to hate her. when he finally see her again, he realizes that he still hates her and decides to punish her for what he thinks that she did to cause their downfall. if you've read book 1 in the series then you know Parker was a major douche, but oohh boy oh boy Warren definitely beat him in that area. Warren definitely does not hold back on his hate when it comes to Harper and damn that made it even better when he began to fall on his ass for her! i'm glad that Warren came to his senses and everything worked out for them! i absolutely loved the ending to this book! it is definitely one of my faves! i seriously love JL and Cassy's dark side and i absolutely love these characters! i can't wait for the next book in the series!! Easton and Cameron are MINE lol and incase y'all didn't know Parker and Warren are also MINE. this series and this book is a definite 5 star for me! and i highly recommend this!

A Romance Filled With Angst, Emotion & Intensity

This book is intense, emotional and angst filled, Warren and Harper's story quickly pulls you into this complicated tale of friendship, romance, heartbreak, hate and anger. I found it impossible not to feel for Harper and I would totally be lying if I said that I never wanted to smack Warren right upside his head because he really pushed and pushed, until he almost went past that point of no return for me. I give Harper serious kudos for being able to forgive Warren and move on because I'm not sure I could have. Still, in spite of having a male lead character that severely tested my patience and limits there is no doubt that I thoroughly enjoyed this compelling and complex romance.

Loved this book!

It's really dark, maybe even a little darker than book one, but worth it at the end! Great story line and good twist. Can't wait for book three! Cameron and Easton sound so bad (in a good way) I wasn't a huge fan of the female voice, but the male is definilty perfect!
