Story
In the Valta, no matter what month you were born, everyone is assigned the same birthday. November 1st. It's the anniversary of the day when the government declared war on the Eastern Order. The day you turn 17, the Recruiters come to take you away. And no one ever hears from you again. It’s October 31st. Today, Kress is 16 years old. Tomorrow, she’ll be taken. The good news? So will her best friend Cardyn, and Brohn, the handsome, enigmatic boy she’s avoided all her life. The bad news? Recruitment isn’t what any of them expected. Weeks of training await.

Story
There will come a day when love will mark you as a traitor. In a society where emotions are nothing and function is everything, Avlyn Lark is just trying to blend in. She's lucky to be alive, unlike her twin brother Ben who died when they were four. And she's lucky to have been taken from her biological parents and assigned to a Level Two family. But mastering her emotions? That's a problem, especially when a rebel bomb blows up a building right in front of her. Then on Configuration Day, Avlyn's official transition to adulthood, she starts seeing strange visions. And instead of being placed with a low-level tech company where she could hide away, she's hired by Genesis Technologies, the government firm that monitors every citizen. Now, instead of blending in, Avlyn fears she'll be exposed for what she really is.

Brilliant! I am officially obsessed!

Summary
Only the chosen shall breed.
Four teens must face the fallout of the Proving. Three have made it through. One has not.
Nova. Kian. Dex. Wren.
Four lives defined by the outcome. Four lives who thought the Proving was the most difficult test they would ever have to face.
They all assumed Askala was safe, but a link to the Outlands has been established and a Remnant invasion is now a threat. In a starving, damaged world, Askala has what others want.
Except the fight for survival is far more complicated than right or wrong, or us and them. It's about humanity versus Earth.
As bonds are fractured and new connections are forged, the question becomes - how do you fight for your world, but also your heart?
Lovers of Divergent, The Hunger Games, and The Maze Runner will be blown away by the breathtaking new series from USA Today best-selling author Tamar Sloan and award-winning author Heidi Catherine.
