A lot of advice out there just doesn’t get how deep emotional abuse cuts, but this book truly does. It spoke to me in a calm, understanding way. The section on finding yourself again really stuck with me. I’ve been in survival mode, and with friends going through the same, I get how hard it is. The narrator did a beautiful job warm, steady, and comforting throughout.
