The acid attack came after she had ended her relationship of several years with Anthony Riley, the man who said he couldn’t live without her. Anthony Riley was convicted in October 2015 and was sentenced to a minimum of 13 years in prison.

I couldn't stop listening and believe what she went through and how anyone cpuld find themselves in such an abusive relationship. This shpuld be made into a movie and parts of it used in high schools to educate young girls.

Screaming at the book in my head ‘ugh just don’t go back’, all the while knowing I was Adele at her age. Knowing it’s not that simple. These abusers have a knack. It’s so easy to judge and tell someone what they should do. We know what we should do, we know better than anyone, but the way they get into your mind is like nothing you can describe!

What a story. Beautifully narrated, a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, a story that reminds us that there are some absolute thugs in this world and that no amount of care or submission will change them. Mum's, listen to this book and, if necessary, give it to your teenage daughters to listen to. Dad's, be your daughters protector, the person she can run to. A story of violence, manipulation, revenge porn, and how Adele came out the other side having missed out on the time of her life that should have held fun and discovery; was physically, mentally and emotionally scarred by a sociopath; but is ultimately strong and resilient. I don't believe Adele will ever be safe from the absolute monster that is Anthony Riley.

I could not stop listening. Beautifully and enpathetically narrated. The narrator gave the story so much emotion in her voice, so you could feel the pain.
It was hard to read you going back time and time again but no one can know what you went through, without walking in your shoes.
What an incredibly courageous woman you are and how you have turned your trauma into so much positivity.
You aren't my daughter but im so proud of you.

It's a very thought provoking and gripping book. Every chapter I thought to myself what is she thinking! Get out. Which made sense in the concluding chapters why it was written that way. 5 stars
