Story
From a very young age, Chloe Pierce was trained to look after the ones she loved. And she was trained by the best. But when the man who looked after her was no longer there, Chloe is cast adrift - just as the very foundation of her life crumbled to pieces. Then she runs into tall, lanky, unpretentious Judge Oakley, her exact opposite. She shops. He hikes. She drinks pink ladies. He drinks beer. She’s a city girl. He’s a mountain guy. Obviously, this means they have a blowout fight upon meeting. Their second encounter doesn’t go a lot better.

Summary
Justice Lonesome has enjoyed a life of bounty. Even so, she's inherited the curse of the Lonesome. A poet's soul. Which means she's still searching for something. Searching for peace. Searching for the less...that's more. And when the foundation of her life is pulled out from under her, grieving, she goes to the mountains to find her oasis. She hits Carnal, Colorado, and decides to stay.
Deke Hightower lost everything at the age of two. He lost it again at 15. His life has not been about bounty. It's been about learning to live with less, because there's no way to get more. Deke's also watched all his friends go down to the women who gave them what they needed. He wants that for himself. But he knows that search isn't going to be easy, because he's a rider. His home is the road. That's the only place he can breathe. And the woman who takes her place at his side has to do it sitting on the back of his bike.
When Deke meets Justice, he knows she's not that woman. She's cute. She's sweet. And she's into him, but she's got it all, and Deke knows he won't fit in to that. So he holds her at arm's length. Establishes boundaries. And Justice will take it, because she wants Deke any way he'll let her have him. But when Justice finds herself a pawn in a dangerous game, Deke makes a decision. When he does, he has no idea he's just opened himself up to bounty.

Loved this story. It is full of real believable genuine characters but also lets you enter a world of fame and fortune with all the angst that comes with that.
The writer and the narrator excel at taking you into the story so that listening to it it feels like you are not as a reading bystander but actually there in the story itself!

Too long, with self-absorbed heroine
In the prologue we meet the h contemplating her years spent partying around the world. She is, apparently, jaded, bored and “done”. I was soon “done” with her “poor little rich girl” routine, especially when she fixates on the mere sight of the H and laments in great detail why her life of “bounty” will never be complete without him in it. This sets the tone for the rest of the book with her endless musings over every aspect of the H like a lovesick teenage fan lusting over a pop star. (Her pathetic drooling over his chest included details of individual muscles, a page devoted solely to describing his chest hair and a weird eulogy about the size and shape of his stomach). In addition, the h declared that she had a “poet’s soul” and that this caused her much emotional angst and suffering, conveniently ignoring that she was living a lifestyle that most would envy.
The book follows the death of her rock superstar father, with the h looking for “peace”. Finding “peace” apparently means leaving all your loving friends and family to live alone in a half built, isolated, insecure and unheated house. Seriously? This was meant to show the reader how much she just loves the “simple life” but it’s like choosing to fly Economy, when you can easily afford First Class – only an idiot would do it. Her life had been one long spending spree with very little work required on her part to fund it, and she was now stressed over whether she would inherit a third or a half of 30 million to add to her trust fund (Over the months the book covered before the epilogue I think she did about 3 hours work – songwriting – while the H worked full time, six days per week, doing construction work.) Listening to her constant self-pity that her “poet’s soul” gave her “pleasure and pain” and how she needed “peace” was an insult to the many readers who have real problems.
I really liked the H in this book (although I did get confused between Deke, Deacon and Decker!). He seemed like a good, solid, hard working guy, and personally I thought he deserved better than a woman obsessed with her “poet’s soul”, who seemed to think that she was somehow more special because she had to suffer with this “poet’s soul”. And yeah, it is irritating to hear about this over and over and over again.
This book was way too long and actually pretty boring. There was a drama about one of her friends but apart from one incident that directly involved the h, the rest of this plot-line was played out elsewhere, and it seemed a bit detached from the main focus of the book, which was all about the H working really hard building a house for the h, while the h pretty much sat around and watched him do it. The final incident was like an afterthought to give a suitable dramatic ending and both H and h reacted like idiots to the situation and faced up to a spaced-out druggie with a gun, merely to save some mementos. That’s just dumb.
As you may have gathered by my long rant, I was not too impressed by this book. I really felt that several years down the line the H is going to realise he is stuck with a needy, self obsessed princess, who makes everything into a drama all about her deep emotional sensitivity. Here’s an idea: Maybe we can introduce her “Poet’s Soul” to that “Inner Goddess”……. This book is “one star” compared to KA’s better offerings. But a one star KA book is equal to three stars by Amazon standards!

Awesome!!!
So...I knew better, as I was doing it, I thought 'you probably should not be doing this now' but I did it anyway, I started this new Kristen Ashley book at 9:30 pm on a week night. 6 hours later I was still listening, completely wired by this story and had wrestle with myself to hit pause button so I got get a few hours of sleep before work.
I am a huge KA fan and I loved this one, it is pure KA. A prior reviewer said that nothing happens in this book, but I completely disagree, there is a depth to the characters that is revealed in al the minor interactions and little dramas. It is what I truly find so appealing about her books. You can't help but love all her characters.
I think it is my second favorite of the series (after Sweet Dreams) but I think I need to go back and listen to all the books in this series again before I make a final determination.
If you enjoy KA books this should be an auto download -absolutely credit worthly, if you are new to this author, this is the most recent release in the Colorado Mountain series. It can be read as a stand alone, but would be better if read in order imo. Happy listening

Missed Emma Taylor
Any additional comments?
I listened to the previous books in the series again in anticipation of Bounty being released - and because I like them just that much. Tara Ochs did a good job and she is a talented narrator but after having Emma Taylor for the previous 4, it was a let-down. As for the story, it is AWESOME. Kristen Ashley is an extremely talented author and each story just keeps getting better and better. I hope she's not done with this series because I've come to love the characters way too much. I so totally appreciate how all the characters flow into all the books. Great job, Ms. Ashley!!

Story drags on with very little story......
Any additional comments?
I hate to be odd person out so far but I thought the whole book just drags IMO to the point I wanted to pull my hair out lol. There is not enough story for 20+ hrs. Should have just been 10 hrs and even then, probably still not enough story IMO - well unless you want to hear about her house on and on. I found myself skipping parts of chapters out of boredom. Not enough angst between H an h (well none really except a tiny bit at very first). Seems like Kristen thought if I put in enough sex, no one will care about the story. I kept hoping it would just end sometimes. Loved some of her others but it seemed Kristen spent very little effort on storyline for this one. I was so excited she was doing another in this series but was disappointed in the outcome. Seems like Kristen gets good ratings no mater what she puts out and I wonder if that is partly just from it being Kristin. Wanted to give it less than 3 stars but felt I couldn't because it was Kristen lol.
Can I add another annoying thing Kristen throws in in every book - the constant use of baby and honey - and no different here.
And btw the narrator is Emma Taylor again and not the Tara Ochs listed at time of this review. Emma is very good and does fine but I was hoping for a different narrator since Kristen uses her a lot. All characters run together then from book to book so I almost forget sometimes which Kristen book I am listening to. And I wonder why she does not bring in some of the leading male narrators to do dual narration.

Amazing book, Amazing narrator!
One of my favorite Kristen Ashley books, and I have many! Bounty is one I've read on Libby twice, bought from Google Play Books and read, and bought from Audible and listened to. I've enjoyed it each time! I highly recommend three book and or audiobook! Kristen Ashley is a joy to read and Emma Taylor is an experience to hear read Ashley's stories.

Another GREAT one.
This is a romantic, erotic, drama HOT and SEXY Alpha male.
Gotta love this book, once again Kristen Ashley has me in tears, yeah I cried. Thank you!!!
Deke Hightower has no roots and he doesn't need or want them. He likes to travel and go where the wind takes him, He grew up knowing the life of the rich and famous. He watched his mother slave over those who treated them like dirt. He has no intention in placing roots with a rich woman who is going to be the same. Deke is in town to work and nothing more, but when he finds out who he is working for, his past comes and slaps him in the face.
Justice Lonesome aka Jus or Jussie has a name for herself, but it was her father who taught her that respect comes a long way rather than fame. She came to Carnal to find peace with herself after a tragedy struck close to her heart. What she wasn't expecting was finding her Poet's souls match and he comes in the form of a mountain man she meet 7 years earlier. But now that she found him again it is going to take more than she has to give to keep him.
There are the drug addicts trying to take everything Jus has, you have a killer on the lose wanting revenge or money, you have more openings to future books (or at least I hope to see one of Blaire). I feel in love with the characters and the story. I am never disappointed with her type of writing.

Bounteous Boho Broad Beguiles Big Beautiful Badass
Bounty is the 7th installment in the Colorado Mountain Series. We first met Deke Hightower in the 2nd book, Sweet Dreams, when he protected Lauren in Tate's absence. Since then, Deke has been there for his buds through thick and thin, and in Bounty we finally get to find out what kind of woman will be his perfect match. Justice Lonesome does not disappoint. She's smart and funny, deep and thoughtful, loving and supportive, and most of all, she is fiercely loyal and all about standing by her man. This story has a bit of action and drama but not as much as some of the others in the series. This one is all about the journey, the trials and tribulations and the overall theme that, at the end of the day, there is an awful lot to be thankful for. And, of course, the epilogue just rocks. Beautiful.
The narrator is listed as Tara Ochs, and this caused me a mini hyperventillatory episode (like when my local stores stopped carrying Red Vines) because I LOVE Emma Taylor for this series. Aside from just being one who likes a series to be consistent, she's perfect. I mean, her voices for Max and Nina, Lauren and Tate, Bubba and Crystal, Lexie and Ty, Chase and Faye, etc. have been awesome, and I did not want them sullied by some newbie who would screw everything up. So before the release, I was like, "OK, Erin, let's hear how bad this Tara person is before we break out the Ben and Jerry's." So I went and listened to samples of her other books on Audible, and guess what? Not only does she not suck, she's Emma Taylor…or Emma is Tara. (It was pretty easy investigative research, so hopefully I didn't just reveal a secret.) I don't know. In any case, the audiobook itself is recorded as being read by Emma Taylor even though Audible lists the narrator as Tara Ochs, so if you are at all concerned about that, don't be.
We had many blasts from the past, including mentions of Stella and Mace, Lee and Indy and that stalkerish celebritramp from At Peace who wanted herself some Joe Callahan. We also get to "see" Cal, as well as Deacon Gates and catch up with all our favorite Carnal, Gnaw Bone and Chantelle residents. It's worth mentioning again that Emma's performance is as consistently flawless as in the last 6 books, and I can't wait to hear her do Wood's story and any more CO Mountain books KA has in her. Creditworthy? Um, yeah. This audiobook an absolute bargain for the full price, member price or credit. 21 hours of beauty. KA always delivers Bounty, and I'm very thankful for that.

5 Bountiful Star’s
I love, love, love, this series!! So to finally get Deke’s story I was on cloud nine and to be able to get the audio the same day the book come out EPIC!
Justice is perfect for Deke! They just fit; I loved getting to see the past and the present.
Getting to see how Jus is and how she relates to the whole group is pretty awesome how she just fits with them. She isn’t in to fame she is just who she is and doesn't apologize for it.
I loved getting to see the whole gang again esp. Kristal and Bubba! That was beautiful.
Christmas and Laurie! <3
Oh how I love me some Tatum Jackson yah baby.
And let’s not forget Joe Callahan, I mean come one can one book have this much hotness.
Watching Deke try and stay standoffish with Jus even though he felt the pull, he knew Jus wanted him but he wasn't going to go there. Until he finds out who she really is. I loved it.
Jus’s family makes me smile when her mom and step dad come for a “visit” not to check out Deke not at all.
Sigh I almost feel like it’s not a KA book unless I have some kind of tears.. .And yep I did, trying to put my make up on this morning and tearing up, yeah thanks KA lol.
Also I love the Wood chapter. Thank you for that! <3
I loved this boooooook, I love this seriessss…
Some of my favorite quotes.
"Never wanna leave my Justice, my home.
So I bring her with me, my baby Lonesome.
Don't matter, Justice is always there,
Always right there, no matter where I go.
My baby Lonesome,
Makin' it so I'm never missin' home."
"I’m gonna Crock-Pot the shit out of this winter.”
“Nothing’s changed from our time in the Camaro, sister. You got this, Krys. You got it, beautiful.”
