The tension in this story is off the charts ; forbidden love, fated mates, political deceit, longing so thick it hurts. Every page bleeds emotion. The flashbacks were perfectly balanced and only made me fall harder for these two beautifully broken characters. And Senan? My gods, his banter, his charm, his pain — I adored him. Allette is fierce, vulnerable, and refuses to accept only pieces of love, which makes her the perfect match for him. Their connection is electric, their chemistry undeniable, and their story… devastatingly beautiful.
This book moves fast, twist after twist, heart-stopping reveals, declarations of love that will make you feel everything. Jenny certainly knows how to destroy and heal you at the same time. The writing is addictive, the pacing perfect, and the emotions raw.
If you love spice, angst, banter, and star-crossed lovers who would defy fate itself, add this to your TBR immediately. I’ve already bought book two because I need answers, and maybe closure; but knowing Jenny Hickman, she’ll probably shatter my heart all over again. Just read the book. Trust me. It’s worth every tear and every lost hour of sleep.
