About this listen

Teacher by day, fantasy writer by night, West Caldwell was forced to live in secret long before werewolves and vampires accidentally outed themselves on social media, causing a worldwide freak out. One slip of his rare Omega magic bound Topher Greer to him against his will. Now that magic threatens to fracture even further, just as shapeshifters are being abducted off the streets of Austin, Texas.

Topher Greer, EMT and former prisoner of the most dangerous vampire coven in Texas, is one of the few who can sense the presence of undead blood. He's been marked for death by the Vampire Nation, who hold his brother hostage. Things with West Caldwell are complicated. Pack law doesn't forbid relationships between newly changed werewolves and their sires. But West has more walls around his heart than a high-security vampire prison.

To avoid the coming war and save his brother, Topher will have to turn to the most unlikely of allies, and untangle the feelings between him and West Caldwell for once and for all.

BOUND is part of the Blood Moon, Texas Shifters series. Sizzling hot romance. Guaranteed HEA.

'Bound' is the third title in this series, the story of another of the Caldwell brothers and a continuation of events from books 1 and 2. West is the only one in the family with a rare omega blood and has to live with keeping that a secret alongside the fact that he and his family are shapeshifters. It has been a year since, in trying to save Topher, he accidentally bound the other man to him. In that time there have been challenges, not least from Topher trying to escape but now they are in a better place and it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to contain their feelings for one another.

That is one strand of this amazing story which had me on the edge of my seat, tension radiating, to laughing out loud. How could I not be. The family and their allies are planning something big but West and Topher still manage to snipe about Sedrick - West's car. Then there are the killer guinea pigs, Dean and Castille, the love-hate relationship with books they insist the other should read and plenty of deliveries of dragon cookies! I laughed out loud more times than I could count and according to my long-suffering husband I sucked in a breath many times!

Kat Kinney is building an outstanding series with these Texas Shifters, I love the fact that each book follows a different brother, still involves the whole family, the timeline following perfectly, and that we have an ongoing, unresolved battle being fought between were's and vampires. It's complex and brilliant

Funny, tense, complex & brilliant.

Full disclosure, this is the only one of the series I have listened in audiobook as I did not like the narration on the others. I like the storylines and can recommend the series in book/ebook format.
West is an Omega who must constantly be on guard with his power so that he doesn't end up used as a weapon by the werewolf council. He unwittingly and unfortunately binds Topher to him with magic when he saves Topher's life.
Topher suffers from the effects of being kept and tortured as a blood slave by vampires as a newly bitten wolf shifter. He's desperate to save his brother from vampires and hates everyone especially West because he bound him.
They exist in an uneasy truce. Each not wanting to acknowledge that despite the forced bond, something with more depth exists between them. West and Topher are charmingly geeky and appealed to my nerdy self with their personality clashes and book antics. Uncovering secrets, betrayals and sinister plots, Topher and West must each choose to love and have a future together.
The story is written with a snarky sense of humour and can be read as a standalone, though reading the other books in the series gives a better reader experience.

I really enjoyed reading this book it was definitely exciting, the story was written well and the characters were amazing. West Caldwell, and Topher Greer, must overcome the turmoil of the supernatural realm and the chemistry between them was hot, steamy and there was werewolves, vampires, fated mates, MM romance.

The romance is spicy and sassy, and the twists keep coming—just as addictive as the first two books. This time, the dopamine hits come from all the clever nods to beloved storylines we fantasy nerds already know and love. Great twists, great fun. Love it!

Really good new to me narrator with great technique and a very enjoyable voice.
Story - 4.25 stars. I listened to this as a standalone (the first parts were mf), and as promised, this worked well. The world building was very clear and really interesting. The MCs were believably afraid and uncertain, and the storyline included a few cases of altered memories, which made everything even more confusing. I could understand why West would close himself off so much with his complicated magic. There were still plot lines waiting for a final solution but no awful cliffhanger.

very good
