Very cleverly written. Enough doubt and questioning without going overboard and making it unbelievable. How would I have reacted if I'd been the mum? I don't know - which added to the tension. Both an author and narrator to follow. Excellent

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The vocabulary of the 9 year old was too old for a child. The characters overall did not come across as convincing and were shallow.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Quite ridiculous and silly that things would go that far.

Could you see Bone by Bone being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

As I said above, the characters and situations were very shallow and black and white. I especially found the father of the bully overdrawn and we never really found out why he behaved like he did.

Far fetched story and very unconvincing.

I felt really uncomfortable listening to Bone by Bone.
I wanted the main character to do what I consider the right thing, and go to the police at the start of the issues.
Nevertheless I stayed with it and ultimately feel that is a few hours of my life I won't get back.
Saving grace is the excellent narration.
