About this listen

Former Navy SEAL Josh Steele gets tasked with a babysitting mission—watch over his boss's daughter—a job he can only describe as hell. But when his assignment takes him to a tropical island, and he begins to see another side of Holly Fairfax, attraction sizzles between them—but he knows better than to risk his job for it.

Holly can't believe that underneath those baggy clothes tech-guru Josh Steele is all ripped abs and sexy hotness. Ignoring said hotness is tough, especially since she has to work with him on the team-building exercises her boss has assigned if she wants a coveted promotion. It's even harder when she discovers being around Josh brings out her naughty side—one she didn't know she had.

But if she cracks the code on his cover, everything they've built could come crashing down.

Contains mature themes.

So, I enjoyed the actual story well enough, the concept was good but, call me a fuddy duddy if you like, but I found there to be too many descriptive sex scenes. No, I'm not a prude, but I tended to zone out after the first few descriptive sex scenes. Maybe there could have been more dialogue? I'd just finished listening to another of this author's books& had thoroughly enjoyed it, sex scenes & all. It was a romantic suspense with a bit of comedy in it that had me giggling out loud! Oh well....
The most disappointing part was the narrator's voice. Sorry, but it just seemed a bit wooden & robotic. There was more life in the narrator's voice when there was no dialogue going on. Really disappointed

A bit disappointed

I listen to a lot of audio books, I can count on one hand how many books I couldn't finish because of the narration but I found this completely intolerable. Monotonous and irritating, especially the main male character's voice. I've really enjoyed all of Cathryn's books and I have no doubt I would have enjoyed this too if any of the other narrators she's used before had read this one. So if you've listened to this first and found it annoying like me, try her other books with different narrators, they were good.

Could not finish because of the narration

If there was a different narrator this book would have been good, but even changing the speed of speaking didn’t make any difference in the awfulness of the book.

Poor Narration

Good story but awful narration, her male voice sounded like Jennifer Coolidge! Really spoiled what would have been a great listen!

Good story

I just couldn’t get past the narration. Her narration of the female character was ok, although a bit slow and with longer pauses than felt natural, but ok, but her narration of the male part was just weird and sounded like she was speaking with cloth in her mouth. It made the male character sound a bit weird and off putting tbh. I couldn’t get past 1/3 of the book.

Book might have been ok but…
